As the author realizes something was missing from an otherwise fulfilling sex life, she explores the notion, introducing the idea of BDSM to her husband, Phillip. Even though Phillip is comfortable with watching porn, he realizes this subject is an area he had considered off-limits with his wife. This is exactly what I would recommend to anyone looking to spice things up in the bedroom. It is informative and entertaining, presenting the information mostly as part of a story! So Hot!

Well, I would compare it to 50 Shades of Grey, except this book actually has realistic information that understands the worlds.

The background of BDSM. For a beginner, the author gives you not only the knowledge of how to introduce BDSM into your bedroom but also a full understanding of what it is.

A great Entry-Level Course on BDSM
What did you love best about A Beginner's Guide to BDSM?
The author was so candid; had a respectable home life and all that; but just needed some kind of extra kinkiness to feel complete. She also walks people through who may not have all the facts straight about the arts of BDSM, and how to proceed gracefully from the ground level.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Beginner's Guide to BDSM?
She manages to ease her husband into her secret kinky desires at the dinner table, just the two of them, and pulls it off with great aplomb.
Have you listened to any of Sierra Kline’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this may be may first one so far. I have only one other narrator of erotica to compare her to, and Sierra could easily stand toe to toe with her.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not anything extreme, some of the instruments described reminded me of a vacation trip I took to a famous torture museum in London where I got to see all these bad -a** looking implements used in the medieval times. Of course, the "tools of the trade" that Marguerite talks about are harmless by comparison.

I am glad I also learned what BDSM actually stands for-I had heard the major words before, but not explained in this level of depth.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Beginner's Guide to BDSM to be better than the print version?
Yes but only in the aspect that I like listening to books more than reading otherwise they are both great

this was a great basic introduction to BDSM
the reason I took 1 star off is because I thought the information only skimmed the surface, and could have been much more in depth. I did really enjoy the book however, and I would recommend it for beginners. I love the narrator and author combination. Kline really knows how to get de Lyon's messages across in a sexy and intellectual way.

not at all what I was hoping for.
narrator was good. the story was good. but that was the problem. it felt like more of a story on how author entered the BDSM lifestyle. I wanted a guide, a teacher. was hoping there would be tips on how to talk, ideas on what to say, how to act. something more like a tutorial on how to do thi.
