About this listen

When I went to my neighbor's apartment to investigate strange sounds, I never expected to fall through a portal into another world. Yet here I am, a stranger in an even stranger land...and I'm stranded. In this world, might makes right, men carry swords, and gods walk the earth. Within minutes of arriving, I'm enslaved.

The one person that might be able to help me is also the one person I want to throttle most. Aron, Lord of Storms, Butcher God of Battle, is my new companion. Or rather, I'm his. As Aron's anchor to the mortal realm, I'm the one that's supposed to be guiding him through his exile in the mortal world.

But Aron and I have a common goal - get home. And we're bonded - anchor and god - with a bond unlike any other. So, we travel together. We bicker. We bathe together. We fight our many, many enemies together. And sure, he's a god, but he's also an arrogant jerk. Brawny, smoking hot, irresistible jerk. I should want nothing to do with him. I certainly shouldn't want to do things to him.

Contains mature themes.

Didn't want it to end. 100% would recommend

As the majority of reviewers have already stated, this book is great. I actually found this book by following the reviews of another (we shared similar thoughts on the Dark Star Warriors series) and their review of this book had me sold. Thank you CCW for your review and stearing me to this wonderful book!

The story had me hooked and I loved every minute of it. Every character had agency and their own contributions. Nothing felt contrived and while it was "predictable" in that love story way, it wasn't blatant. It was just a great story with so much love (and action). Ruby Dixon deserves high praise for this book as does Kendall Taylor for her wonderful narration.

If you are at all on the fence, just go for it. It is worth the credit/cost. Trust the reviews, this book really is that good!

21 hours of listening was not enough!!

This book was soooo good that I did not want it to end. 21 hours of listening just wasn't enough. I wish Ruby would have written another book about another God with an anchor. the narrator was completely relevant. Kendall Taylor did an amazing job.
This book was absolutely worth my very last credit.

Warning: Addictive material within

These books are better than the meds I get for my panic attacks. lol Seriously though. I get really pissy when someone interrupts my Ruby time. Aside from her vivid imagination and mastery of this literary corner, I recently lost my mother to a lung disease and Ruby's books have helped me get through the quiet parts of my day. She provides a universe of possibilities where I can be any one at any time in any reality I wish, even if only for a short time. This is utterly invaluable and I haven't the words to express my gratitude or admiration. I've been reading Ruby's books since I was a teenager. For any parents out there who have highly "active" teens, namely young woman, consider Ruby. She will make normal teenage boys look downright boring💗😘😁

No IPB, but still good.

This one is a long one for Ruby Dixon as her books tend to be much shorter. I like the story, but I almost think it was a bit too long. I also wish I felt the chemistry better, maybe since her other books are from duel points of view you feel it more. Or possibly it was the fact that Aron was split from his original self into fallen aspects and loving him was not his whole self. I know he was supposed to be a god, but it was also hard to believe he never got dirty on the journey, I get the whole not eating, drinking, and sleeping as it felt like he absorbed her essence instead, so she was doing it for the both of them. Overall enjoyable, and since I bought the next one on a sale, I will listen to it. This book reminded me more of the Fire Dragon series than the Ice Planet Barbarian series, I still love Ice Planet Barbarians the best. Narrator was pretty good.

Irritating Voice

Couldn't make it five minutes with the narrator. However the book sounds very promising. I'll just have to read it instead.

Long but entertaining,

I wish this book had a different narrator. The narrator doesn’t seem to fit the role well. And I don’t think she understands all of the humor of the author . That being said, I did make it through to the end. And I’ll try the other books in the series. I do love Ruby Dixon‘s other books a lot.

Entertaining & Laugh Out Loud Funny

This was a new author for me. I read this book after reading a few of the reviews and I’m so glad I did. It held my attention from beginning to end! So entertaining to listen to and not one dull moment. I think the narrator added something special in the way she read the book also in her timing that aided in sometimes just making me laugh out loud. Loved the dynamics between the 2 main characters he was strong but she was just as strong in my eyes. This is a MUST READ Novel! Trust me you’ll enjoy ever minute of it.
