About this listen

K. C. Carter has always followed the rules - until she makes a mistake that leaves her the talk of her college campus and brings her carefully arranged life crashing to a halt. Now she's stuck in her small hometown for the summer so she can complete her court-ordered community service. To make matters worse, trouble is living right next door.

Jaxon Trent is the worst kind of temptation and exactly what K. C. was supposed to stay away from in high school. But he never forgot her. She was the one girl who wouldn't give him the time of day and the only one ever to say no. Fate has brought K. C. back into his life - except what he thought was a great twist of luck turns out to be too close for comfort.

As they grow closer, he discovers that convincing K. C. to get out from under her mother's shadow is hard, but revealing the darkest parts of his soul is nearly impossible.

Two Broken Hearts make a whole...

Ok, so I will be so honest, I was SOOO afraid to read this one. I wasn't sure that my heart could take it...you know...when you so want to read a book but are so scared to actually see what happens...that was me...I have the ebook, I have a paperback and yet....never opened until I said, Stop being a Baby and listen to it, for some reason (and I have the complete series in audio), I am better able to listen that read this series...who knows ....anyway...SO SO SO SO SO happy that I finally took the leap because I freaking LOVED FALLING AWAY...I don't think Penelope could have done a better job at making you completely break, just to be put back together again....and then break you again...my heart still hurts.

KC/Juliet's story was so heartbreaking...who the hell would have known after meeting her in BULLY that this was what was hiding underneath. (Best part...the butter knife....HAHAHAHA).

Jaxon...well, well, well.....that little dirty talker was "nasty" and I mean more in a sense of Janet Jackson...rather than "Nasty" like mean...even though her had his moments when he needed a good one over the knee.

Penelope blew me away again...and I can't WAIT for the next in the series...let's see Jared and Tate get into some trouble!!

Not the best in series.

While this is certainly the steamiest if the series- I think this story had major issues. Besides being the clearly most unhealthy of all the relationships, the Juliette storyline just seemed uncharacteristic of a woman who was trying to make better choices for herself. At this point in the series- I’m also finding it ridiculous that these kids have SO MUCH MONEY and houses GALORE. Hahaha. Obviously these are dirty stories but the believability is getting too out there.
The narration is fine. The male narrator is a little easier to take. The female narrator grumbles a lot of the lines very dramatically and it’s a little over the top. Thank god her voice is generally pleasant.

Great series

I really enjoyed this series. I think the author probably could have done a little Better on this book. She saved the excitement for the end and it felt a bit hurried and unfinished to me, but worth the credit .

Loved it!

This is a younger series with some of the harder to deal with issues people face today. But the writing is amazing and true to the characters. the narrators was fabulous. Well worth the Credit/money.

Dark, but good

This was pretty good, I liked the chemistry and tension between Jax and Juliet. Jax is much darker than Jared or Madoc, he's been through a lot and the flashbacks were really sad. I still prefer Madoc and Fallon, but this had a lot of sexy times which I greatly enjoyed! Lol. Jax and Juliet are like the tragic couple who have both been through terrible things and need each other to help heal and move forward. Jax is a jerk a lot of the time, he pushes Juliet away, but inside he's like this scared kid who thinks no one can love him. The narrators were really good and matched the characters well.
This was heavy in a lot of places, but a good addition to the series!

relationship ties.

I think this might have been my favorite story yet. Or maybe because I’ve progressed so far into this series ? The rich lavish lifestyle these kids have are so farfetched BUT intriguing none the less. That’s the point in a good story, right? Takes you outside of yourself. awesome awesome book. Great story. Amazing series.

Each book get better

Finally Jax's story. He has always wanted KC and finally this is their story. Two broken people come together and make each other whole. They both think they are unworthy of love or anything good, something that each of their parents have made them feel. This is a second chance story for both Jax and KC and it starts off with two years prior to current events. They think it will just be a summer thing but it turns into so much more regardless of how much they both try to fight it.

This generation is now paired off

This story and series has a gritty kind of soap opera feel that draws you in.
Adopted son Jaxon Trent has been hooked on Tate’s friend K.C. Carter since he set eyes on her. It’s a few years later and he’s well entrenched in the Falls and the local racetrack. KC’s home to work on her community service following the events of her break up with Liam. Tutoring incoming seniors at her previous high school is a challenge that cements her tracking to a teaching career. Jax and KC both have dysfunctional parenting to overcome in the midst of working out their attraction.
Hobbs and Craden do a creditable job of narrating a story that works best with both male and female voices.

Very emotional

Cutting to the chase around chapter 25 your heart will break for Juliette. This whole book had a lot of little emotional spots but chapter 25 just broke my heart. It is so relatable. The reader did a fantastic job conveying the characters emotions.
