Publisher's summary

A steamy new stand-alone novel by the best-selling author of Escape to New Zealand.

I never asked Hemi Te Mana to rescue me.

It was true that I had a lousy job. Not to mention a lousy apartment and too much responsibility, although it was a responsibility I wouldn't have given up for the world. That still didn't mean I needed rescuing, if that was what you'd call the situation I ended up in.

And anyway, I knew that a multimillionaire Maori CEO with too many muscles, a tribal tattoo, and a take-no-prisoners attitude was way, way out of my league.

So, no, I didn't ask him to, but he rescued me anyway. Because Hemi was fierce. But you know what I found out? So was I.

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT.. HEA BUT PART I OF A TRILOGY

What an enjoyable, well written and wonderfully narrated book this was as Hemi Te Mana, the handsome, charismatic and filthy rich fashion tycoon, finds his very own virginal Cinderella when he meets Hope Sinclair. But, because of past painful personal issues, Hemi has absolutely no intentions of a) getting emotionally involved, b) opening up to her, c) letting her in.. and never d) keeping her. And yet the more he got to know Hope the harder it became to get the tiny, tempting, frustratingly persistent, strong-willed, courageous and kind hearted woman out of his system.

Hope had a difficult childhood - from an early age she'd been responsible for her younger sister and, now that it's just the two of them, she's the sole provider and care giver - so her responsibilities and commitments are high. And yet Hope never complains - she just gets on with things, buys knock-off or goodwill clothes and works on the bottom rung of the fashion industry's ladder - until, out of the blue, she gets a new and very favorable job offer. But behind the scenes Hemi is pulling all the strings and is about to make his move - one that he's done many many times before, one that is strictly short-term and comes with strings, secrets, written agreements.. and absolutely no promises. However, his new employee (and potential new sexual 'arrangement') wants a Prince not a Playmate and is about to uncover a sweeter side to Hemi - one he has successfully buried for years because there's a past and present that he's just not willing to talk about or reveal.

This leads to Hemi and Hope slowly getting to know each other as they both experience firsts.. ones that lead to vulnerabilities, sex, a soul-connection, deep feelings, emotional ties and even love.. but Hemi only wanted one of those things and Hope was.. well hoping for all of them. There was good character development as Hemi eventually let SOME of his barriers down however this is a TRILOGY folks and, even though there's a HEA to this book, Hemi and Hope's journey (and trials) are far from over because Hemi's well hidden past is about to turn up - and the fallout will be bad.

Worth a credit? This dual POV romance was great.. Hope wasn't a sure thing and made Hemi worthy of her V card first.. and on her terms, the characters were likeable, some sex scenes had very lite bdsm play and the book was well described and well written. But what made this such an entertaining and smooth running story was Claire Bocking's awesome narration which had me looking for the name of the second narrator it was THAT good. Genders, nationalities, accents and emotions were absolutely no problem for this talented narrator's vocal abilities. So, YES a very very creditworthy listen and I hope the next two books in this trilogy will be available soon coz they've been written and published already.

An Exquisite Experience - Not to be Missed

Any additional comments?

I have been an avid reader of Rosalind James' Escape to New Zealand series and this is the book that began within Just In Time. And now we get to hear the whole story.
When you put a man who is use to controlling his universe and getting whatever he wants with a strong willed, independent woman - the sparks will fly. And the sparks really fly with this story. Be fairly warned when the sparks fly so does the steam - there is enough steam in this one to melt the ice in any drink.
Claire Bocking's performance is exquisite. Even when I wanted to shake the main characters, the narration kept me very involved in the book and the characters and added another dimension to the whole experience. This not just a reading of the story, it is a performance.
So settle in with some fine cheese, chocolate, and your favorite wine and enjoy one of the most exquisite listening experiences I have ever had.

Excellent book

I love a book that can have me shed tears! Hemi was a great man, not overbearing and easily able to fall in love with. karen was a strong teenager especially with her trials.Hope was also a strong woman that survived the stress and fears she had caring for her sister. Hope didn't change her values for a man nor put a man before her sister. Great read. Loved the book and narrator.

it certainly is fierce, but very enjoyable

I had read the story that was included in the escape to NZ novel but this version of it was much much better,

At times I was very pissed off at Hope and I was yelling at the character as I was out was walking listening to the book and if people saw me and heard me I wonder what they thought

the characters are well written that when they do bone headed things you just want to yell at them which in my opinion is the sign of a well written book

I also yelled at Hemi as well and he did some bone headed stuff,

It is well written and I did enjoy it more than I thought I would so I am looking forward to the next book

Just from reading the summary I knew this was going to be a great read. It was already going to be a great read when listening to Faith from Escape to New Zealand book, write it. I won't get more into the story because you have to read it for yourself.
Rosalind James did it again with this book and I can't wait to hear more from her.

Good easy listen if you love- love

It’s a good story, good book, and pretty good narration. Claire always does a good job but his voice this time was too whispery and trying to be seductive that was annoying in the beginning. His forcefulness was hard to not punch him in the face in the beginning but over all I fell in love with the book. I am bias bc I love this author and all the New Zealand books.

If you love the New Zealand series then you’ll love this easy read with love, drama, twists and moments you want to scream at the characters!

One of my favorites!

I enjoyed this book even before it was an entire book. I've read many of the billionaire romances and they tend to get a bit monotonous, but Rosalind has a fresh new way of adding some spice to our lives!
Once again I love Claire Bocking's voice and she just keeps getting better and better.
I highly recommend this well written, hot and sexy novel.
