About this listen

Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing or make you feel like a king.

But there is only one man who can claim her body - and her soul.

Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else - until now....

Quite the story!

Would you listen to Madame X again? Why?

I might listen to it again before the next one in the series comes out just to refresh my mind.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Madam X for sure. She is quite the mystery.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next installment of the story. I am caught up in the mystery of all the characters.

Did not want the story to end.

Would you listen to Madame X again? Why?

Yes I would listen again as I know I missed some of the clues and small details that made this story so interesting.

What other book might you compare Madame X to and why?

I can't think of any book that I have ever read that I would compare this to in any meaningful way. In my mind, the story is unique.

What about Summer Roberts’s performance did you like?

Her voice held my attention and was very expressive.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene with number 3 really set me on edge.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next instalment.

Emotionally painful

Wow, any book that can make the reader/listener physically feel the emotional pain of a character, is brilliantly written. Thirty minutes after completing the first book of the trilogy and my abs are still clenched and aching from the empathy I am continuing to feel. In my personal experience, there is no more vicious pain, for this woman, then the knowledge that the man you love is not ,and will not ever be, faithful to you.
At this point, in the story, I cannot understand Madame X's decision to turn her back on a real chance for happiness, to return to the hell she knows. Gosh I hope this story turns a corner and Madame X proves to me that this emotional pain I continue to feel, is going to change to joy and sighs of relief. ]
If you can't handle reading about the darker sides of life, this is not for you. For me? on to part 2.

Love can be a twisted thing...

This story gripped me in the beginning and even toward the end, as I groaned and cursed at X's choices. I can guarantee there are some angry reviews here about how she made the choices that some women would consider "weak" and I can see why. Even so, I look forward to the next book because I know X will gain strength and that Logan will help her do it. All of these men in her life have added something to her and assisted her with finding herself while also confusing her by making her think and realize that she doesn't know herself or them. I was a tad frustrated with watching her indecisiveness at times but I am sure I will be pleased as this saga progresses and she finds herself again. I look forward to continuing the series and seeing what happens. Also, as always I love Summer's performance. She has the perfect, ladylikevoice, while still being able to do the voice of a man without making me cringe and feel like laughing (many women voice actors seem to struggle with the male counterpart's voices). All in all, it was worth my time and I wouldn't be able to recommend it yet but I have a feeling that once I finish the series, I will definitely want to recommend it to others.

Great storyline

Would you listen to Madame X again? Why?

Yes, I loved the flow of the story. Even though most of it took place in one location, the imagery of her world was excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

X, because she was sexy as hell, and I loved all her layers

Have you listened to any of Summer Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, a great many. I think she brings every book I've heard her in, to life.I am a fan.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when she kept going back to her master, after finding happiness somewhere else.

Any additional comments?

I was thrown off by the point of voice when I first started to read. I almost put it down. It was my love for Summer Robert's reading style in combination with the trust I had for Jasinda's writing style that kept me reading. I'm so glad I did.

Not what I expected

Nothing like what I was expecting. Very unusual story and took me over a week to listen to. Caleb is a manipulative ass. Madame X I'm not sure if she is just ignorant or scared.
However, I will be listening to the second book to see where this goes.
It will probably take me another week to finish that book too.

Wanting

One cannot read without inserting one's self. The ending leaves questions, so one is surely set to read on. Great cliff hanger ending, and trigger for MORE!
