Publisher's summary

Nina is a normal Florida girl with a job and a life and a grandmother she adores. But lately, she’s been having disturbing dreams: dreams of a man with a shadowed face - a man filled with pain and need and desire only she can slake. She fears him, but at the same time, the dreams leave her breathless with need. Who is this dark stranger, and what does he want of her?

Reddix is a Touch Kindred with an inverted Touch sense - he can’t touch with his mind like others of his kind. Instead, he is doomed to endure their emotions like a physical invasion every time he’s around anyone. Desperation drives him to kidnap Nina - the girl of whom he has been dreaming. But he doesn’t take her out of love, but as a sacrifice to one who claims she can cure his affliction.

Snatching Nina from her job, Reddix takes her on a journey to the stars that ends in disaster. Now, marooned on a strange planet, they will have to learn to work together in order to survive.

Can Nina forgive Reddix’s attack and gain his trust enough to heal him...or will his fate remain forever shadowed?

How are they supporting three species?

After listening to 40 of her books in this series I’m just wondering how they are sustaining humans, kindred and the monstrum kindred from one planet earth or are they getting a steady stream of resources from the other planets?? Although it never really says how or if they are getting a supplies from elsewhere, but I would think by now Earth would say something about the extra toll it’s taking from the resources, or is this a moot point and no one really cares? It’s just fiction anyway?

Love the series but

I love the brides of the kindred series but hate the whisper thing the narrator does when portraying the characters thoughts. Hoping it won’t continue in future books because I just can’t listen to that anymore. Can you say “creepy”???

Another great story

I have come to love all of Evangeline Anderson's books in this series. I really love the narrator as well. I could listen to him talk all day and night. I hope audible adds the rest of the series ASAP because I want to be able to listen to them all in order. I would definitely recommend the whole series. This story made me smile, laugh, and cry. I love happy ending and this one has it. I also love how Evangeline introduces the next story so we'll.

not bad...little too much near coercion

I liked it but there were too many coercion/forcing type vibes for me to really fully enjoy it. not physical force, but eh, still enough that it just rubbed me the wrong way and made me uncomfortable

Amazing

I love everything about this series but the whispering!! It is so annoying especially if you have headphones on. The story was great and I love how the big kindred was healed by his mate. I hope this author writes more about all the main kindred and their growing families. I highly recommend this book, even with the annoying whispering! I mean who whispers when they think. Why would they need to whisper, who can hear what they are thinking??? 🤔😕

Let the bear in.

As usual Evangeline Anderson makes a very sexy story. This particular story had a bit of a Snow White feel to it. I wished that there would have been more of Nina’s Indian heritage and medicine incorporated into the story, but it is what it is and I enjoyed the story very much. I’m looking forward to the next book, it should be fun with Maggie and Kor. I’m also looking forward to the book with Becca and her guys. Narrator is good as usual; his female voice seems to be improving a bit. I’m hoping Audible will come out with the next book soon.

Great read

While this is not my favorite book in the series it was still very fun and entertaining, and there are a few steamy scenes. However, the resolution to this story was pretty weak compared to some other books in the series.

Good but

Nina got on my nerves; she was so irritating at times; Riddix was equally as irritating. It was a good story, but not as good as others. William did a great job as usual. The next book should be a good one.

Shadowed

William Martin did a fantastic job narrating this story. Listening to Shadowed was an absolutely enjoyable experience that all paranormal lovers can enjoy. This story has it all and does not disappoint. However, I do recommend listening to this series in order so that nothing is missed because this is an interconnected series. Shadowed has the perfect amount of steamy scenes, romance and suspense, and it leaves readers wanting more. I enjoyed Reddix and Nina's story and also the continuation of Saber and Lissa's story. I found that I enjoyed this story more while listening to it, than I did when I actually read it myself. I'm excited to listen to the next book in this series even though I have already read the book.
