Excellent Audible book and story!

Listening to this book takes you into a wonderful world of mythical gods, secrets, comedy, fun bickering, friendship, heart wrenching realities and secrets, heartwarming moments, burning desires, panty melting sex, compassion, longings, the ire of gods, and a storyline filled with twists and turns. Both Somnus and Lailani think they are destined to never find love, but with help from their friends their destiny may change.

Once again Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott portray these characters in a way that will delight the listener. They really bring out the characters' personalities.

I volunteered to receive this Audible book and write a review. I highly recommend this Audible book. Although this is a short story Nicole Garcia gives the reader a complete story so you don't feel you have been short changed. She is definitely a talented writer. The narrators will make it an exciting listening experience.

Love comes in many forms

I’ll admit, this intrigued me. I don’t usually go for this type of book but it surprised me with how human the Gods can be. I adored Somnus and his ability to fall for a human and Leilani for her strength of character and ability to accept what was thrust at her. Kai and Wen do a suburb job with all the different characters so much so that I always knew who was speaking.

What a fun book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. Nicole has really improved as a writer and this book is testament to her growth. The storyline flows well, it has its share of humor, suspense and of course, lots of hot, steamy sex.

Have you listened to any of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kai and Wen are favorites of mine, I love the way they play off of each other and add small nuances to every story they tell.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot. Hercules is such a fun character. Nicole is lucky to have a guy like him in her head.

Any additional comments?

Awesome Story & Audible Listen🎧 Love❤️This Series!

Nicole Garcia pens another awesome book in her “A Roman God Romance” Series. I loved the 1st book “Cupid’s Love” and loved “Somnus’ Love” even more. The storylines and characters continue to be interesting and engrossing. Somnus’s story takes place two years after Cupid’s son Kane was born, which was his first encounter with Laila, they had not seen each other since but when they meet again the chemistry between them is smoking. Somnus and Laila’s story is a unique one, I loved the twists in their story and finding gout who Laila ‘Lailani Love’ was. Several surprises and twists in this fast paced story, Nicole Garica gives more insight in the world of the Mythical Gods, the dynamics and their power, the ways of the past and how it is now. Thank you for this wonderful story, I do hope you continue with the series would love Hercules’s story, such an extra-ordinary character needs his time in the sun soon.

I listened to the Audible edition, the narrators Kai Kennicott and Wenn Ross deliver another outstanding performance. Both are greatly talented storytellers and voice performers and are a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another great & entertaining listen

My Thoughts on Somnus' Love

I really, really enjoyed book two in this awesome series. But then again I'm coming to love everything I read/listen to that's written by Nicole Garcia. There were so many secrets and plot twists in this story. It made for an exciting read.

I loved all the characters in this book as well. Revisiting with Cue and Val from book one was great, but so was getting to know Somnus and his love as well. Hercules really stood out in this story too so I'm even more excited for his book.

And what about that surprise potential character thrown in? I'd love a book about that person. But I don't want to give anything more away. I'd love for other romance fans to get to experience all the surprises as I did.

Kai and Wen are two narrators who never fail to give an amazing performance. They absolutely kept my high opinion intact with this one.

Overall a great listen.

Loved Book 2!

I think I loved this one even more than Cupid's Heart, which I didn't think would be possible! Somnus is such a tortured and complex character, with so many secrets that have been kept from him during his life. Layla has been struggling with her health her whole life. The two have met before after the birth of Cupid's son and Somnus has never been able to get Layla out of his head. Their love story is one with some heartache. Of course, Kai and Wen deliver a dynamite performance and made this story even better than it already was. I am really looking forward to Hercules' book when it comes out!

Sweet, Steamy, With A Little Angst

I received this audio in exchange for an honest review, but actually requested to listen after reading all the positive reviews, especially Pam's. It's another sweet, steamy story with some angst between the H/h. Due to the length, it was easy to listen to in one sitting.

Some spoilers;
Somnus the God of Dreams has been grieving for centuries. He lost the love of his life, and blames himself for not being able to save her. He's vowed to never love again or to take a human as a mate....even if they are destined to be together. But when he meets Lailia, he cannot deny the attraction and chemistry between them. Lailia can feel the pull between them as well; however, she has a condition that causes pain, and prevents her from wanting to get intimate with anyone. Being the God of Dreams, Somnus slips unintentionally into one of Lailia's dreams which turns into a nightmare, and now he's afraid he will hurt Lailia and refuses to go around her. The other Gods sees how being part from Lailia is affecting Somnus, so they secretly help Somnus out. When Somnus can no longer deny his feelings for Lailia, he visits, but when the visions of the dream come true, he is horrified at what he has done. He leaves Lailia's place in such a rush, she never had time to explain what really happened. It's not until the meddling Gods take action again, for Somnus to learn the truth.

It's always a pleasure to listen to Kai and Wen narrate. They deliver on all the emotions and tones, and I especially love how they narrate their perspective male/female roles.

It's possible I burst into flame listening to this

Would you consider the audio edition of Somnus' Love to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but the narration was so good, I'd have to assume the audio version is better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Somnus' Love?

I love the scenes with Kane in them, I have a 2 year old nephew so these scenes make me go awe.

What about Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performance did you like?

Everything! These two narrators work so well together, the end result is so engaging that you forget that you're hearing two different people as it blends into a performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, and well... it turned me on. Some of those scenes were so hot, especially the last one, oh my god, someone get me a hose I need to cool down!

Any additional comments?

This is the second book in the series and it has major spoilers for book 1 so if you plan to listen to book one do so before listening to this book.

I'm a huge Nicole Garcia fan and this book is a great example of why I love her books.
