Whoa

This the first book I've read/listened to by N.O. One. I am fully invested in River/Rose's story! My heart breaks for her. There is truly no one else I like, because *I* don't trust any other character for various reasons. My heart was beating out of my chest several times. I absolutely cannot wait for the next chapterofher life!!

Lenox Louis is a new to me narrator. Her performance was superb. I love her voice. She narrates female and male voices well. She had this audiobook rolling like a movie in my head. Perfection.

The Rich One

well $h!t, I was not expecting that ending. Dang now that's a low blow. man I would be to heartbroken 💔, she had a chance to have some take care and maybe love her but chose the person she's been in love with for years just to find that out. well that sucks. I can't wait for the next book to come out and I do hope it's soon. oh man and I wounder who the Stalker is. man I hate that I have to wait.

Hot and sexy!

The name of the author really caught my eye on this book along with the front cover. The warning and then chapter one certainly grabbed my attention and made me really glad I decided to give this author a chance. I think this is a very good beginning to The Escort series. It is not a standalone as it does end in a cliffhanger. I really like River/Rose and her various men, especially Tyler since we get to know him better than the others. Their times together are spicy and naughty. I might find this series to be a bit too angsty for me, but it's too hard to tell yet. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here. Lenox Louis is a new-to-me narrator but I think she did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I hope to hear more stories narrated by her.

First book from this author, has me intrigued

So I listened to this one pretty quickly, I was hooked early on haha. I was expecting a lot more darker themes/very kinky stuff based on the trigger warnings but it was pretty tame bar the water*sports kink mentioned haha. I did do research after finishing it up to see if this was going to be a RH book because I thought it had a lot of potential and would be amazing if it was but it looks like it will not be, which makes me sad. The spinoff appears to be more than M/F so I will be looking into that one soon.

River/Rose was a strong FMC and I liked her personality but felt bad that she needed to do this for her and her brother but also she always keeps people at a distance and doesnt allow herself to love or get super close to any of her clients, even though one seems amazing and I want them to be together but I know they won’t be 😭. I wanted to shake her and her bestie for all the miscommunication and issues they were dealing with. She needed him after a trauma and he refused to answer and he has no idea what he has done to her mentally, so I hope once he finds out there is a lot of groveling. I loved the mystery and adorable banter between her and candy aisle guy haha. I am interested to see what happens with them too!

The kink and steam is fun in this one (I loved our billionaire’s scenes especially!) and it wasnt too over the top of the subject matter/series about an escort. I thought the plot and the subplots were done really well. There were some twists I didnt see coming/some moments that twisted your gut and tugged at your heartstrings, don’t give them away but its handle well and made me continue to do household chores so I had an excuse to continue to listen 🤣

Narration was good, I think this is my first time listening to this narrator but it won’t be the last. I thought she did a good job getting River/Rose’s emotions to evoke feelings from me. From her fear during the big event, the hurt from her bestie leaving her hanging after everything they’ve been through, the giddiness with a new guy and their date haha, and the confusion but steam and contentedness with her rich client. I wish this had a male narrator but I still enjoyed this one with just the one narrator. They did a good job making her voice different for the various characters (all the side characters, like River’s brother and sister in law haha). The accents/personalities are all so different.

Overall I enjoyed it but I know I am going to be sad when she doesnt keep more than 1 of her guys haha.

Interesting Beginning

I really like how this starts with zero preamble with an interesting client. River "Rose" definitely leads an interesting life. It may not be a traditional career choice, but I appreciate that she embraces it and does what she feels she must.

I do love that even when things go sideways, she perseveres. Aside from with her loved ones, she doesn't back down on tough conversations, be it a jealous ex, a business associate, or a client.

As for the men in her life, not surprisingly, she has some things going on there. First up is her childhood love, best friend, and occasional lover, Kai Briggs. I'm not a fan. He's too... what's the word?... selfish will have to do. His actions don't line up with their supposed destiny.

Next up is the very fine billionaire, Tyler Walker. Mmm... yeah, there's only one unfortunate downside to him from Rose's perspective. The other parts are very enticing. Yeah, I'm a bit partial to him.

Then we have the neighborhood guy, Nathaniel "Nate" Reed, who is close to friend zoning himself but seems like a good guy in need of a second chance at love. Even if he isn't right for River, I like their budding relationship.

Lastly, we have the unknown stalker who leaves extremely... unconventional... and creepy "gifts." On one hand, I'm curious where this goes. On the other hand, I want him to just fade away. *shivers*

This isn't a safe book, nor is it a traditional romance. There's plenty of dirty fun, several kinks, and a few crossed lines.

I'm intrigued enough to want to see what comes next. The next book sounds very promising. 😉

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator, Lenox Louis, is great. I love the sass and attitude that comes flying across my earbuds (definitely listen with those on).

A Great Listen

This is the story of Rose/River. Talk about one tough woman. This story will have you hooked and I really loved listening to it. She is a escort. But that is not the only thing she has going on in her life. But a girl has to make it in this world no matter what it takes. She has several relationships going on with Kai, who you are going to love to hate. He is the most frustrating, egotistical male I think I've seen in a book in a long time. Nate gives off these strange vibes and I can't figure him out for the life of me. Then there is Tyler and he is the one you are going to fall for. He has the biggest heart and it is solid gold. Stinking rich and smoking hot. What's not to love about him. I don't want to say to much about this book and give something away. I really loved listening to it and can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Living a double life

This book is about River who is essentially living a double life. On one hand, River lived on a commune, was homeschooled by hippy parents, and pines for her first love Kai. In my opinion, every one night stand River and Kai now share, Kai breaks her ❤️‍🩹 heart a little more. Kai is the great love of River's life she can't get over and also can't have. Did I mention that Kai is best friends with River's brother and sees him a lot? Kai gives River seriously mixed signals while being involved with her ex-best friend. No one really knows River because her friends and family think she's a life coach. In reality, River is in fact a paid escort known as Rose. As Rose, she will make any man's dreams come true. Only after the men sign a contract and list all that is required. I think Rose is a very high paid actress who enjoys the time she spends with her clients. There is a reason Rose is a escort. She needs the money for something. This particular book is mostly about Rose's rich client. Rose really could've had a Pretty Woman moment but she is still thinking of Kai. I wished Rose could've settled for the rich one because I didn't mind him. The rich one accepted Rose. Rose can't afford for her 2 worlds to mix. It appears that she has someone that is stalking and harassing her. There is a client in this book who is very violent with Rose. That scene is very traumatic. Presumably, each book will focus on Rose's major client at the time. Brace yourself because Kai well and truly stabbed River through the heart 💔 with the cliffhanger at the end of this first book! How will River move on in her personal and professional life? Will we ever find out who this stalker is? This book is very explicit.

Dark, Dirty and Delicious

I'm already obsessed with this series. The whole premise is really interesting, an escort with some really interesting clients, each book focusing on one client while mystery and suspense unfolds in the background. The Rich One starts off with a "oh, um, okay" moment as she's getting busy with a client (not the rich one) and I knew right away this was gonna be spicy as heck and so deliciously dirty.

Annddd I wasn't wrong. Tyler was amazing, and to be honest, I'm sad he isn't end game, because the way he treats River was so sweet and perfect. River is amazing as his high end girlfriend and I loved her interactions with the nasty people in his world. She's the best.

This ends on quite the gnarly moment and cliffhanger. I can not wait for The Keen Kee One to hit audio so I can devour that one as well. This audio was so good. Lenox Louis did a wonderful job and I loved how quick of a listen it was.

Interesting story

First in The Escort series. Story has a strong woman character that is unapologetic for her line of work as it's a means to provide for her brother and his wife. River's best friend is in love with her and is unable to convince her to give them a chance. A new client turns out to be her worst nightmare and a trusted client wants more from her.

I'm not sure how I really feel about this story. I'll wait to pass judgement once I finish the series. It did hold my interested enough to finish and to find out what happens next.
