Spicy, polyamorous holiday novella with a case of mistaken identity

I love when a highly anticipated book meets all your expectations. I’ve been looking forward to reading this book, and happened to find the audio on sale, so this was truly meant to be. This was a fast burn, low angst, spicy holiday novella that hit all its marks.

Leo meets Riley at an airport bar, where she mistakes him for his famous hockey playing twin brother. He doesn’t correct her (just cuz it’s easier) and they hit it off. He brings her home to meet his best friend/boyfriend, Jace. They all connect instantly, making what should have been a one-night stand something more. Unfortunately, Riley still thinks Leo is his twin 🫣

🎧 It was no surprise that this narration team was absolute perfection. Holy goodness, their chemistry was so good! They really packed a lot of feeling into this short novella. It was such a delight to listen to. Plus, we got some bonus scenes to help round out their story’s

TLDR: Spicy, polyamorous holiday novella with a case of mistaken identity.

The Christmas trio I didn't know I needed!

This was exactly what I expected for a smutty Christmas novella from Kayla Grosse! This instalust fast burn started off hot and really only dimmed to a smolder for the more angsty portion of the story. If you came to this book looking for a plot, turn away now! Lol. Did I still find myself falling for these characters? I sure did! Do I need more of this trio in the future? Absolutely! The narrators (Victoria Connelly, Grayson Owens, and Aiden Snow) absolutely blew their performances out of the water, making me almost feral for more of the story. This may have been a quick novella, but I couldn't get enough and hope there is more in the future.

Character development was pretty good

Got to know and understand two of the three main characters. The story was very erotic! This book is going into my faves;)

Perfect short steamy novella

This novella is everything you want in a holiday romance: spicy, hilarious, and surprisingly heartwarming. Leo, Jace and Riley feel real, the chemistry is off the charts, and it’s impossible not to root for these three to find their happily ever after. Whether you’re here for the spice or the story, this one delivers in every way.

Spicy Christmas Novella

Performance: 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤/5
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (but the spice feels spicier when you’re listening!)

Victoria Connolly as Riley. Riley tends to lead a pretty predictable existence, until she’s stranded at the airport on Christmas Eve & meets “Lucas.” With undeniable chemistry, Riley takes the risk to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience & embraces the unknown. Victoria did a phenomenal job embodying Riley’s openness, vulnerability & heartfelt emotions, and her expressive nature accurately portrayed the mood throughout!

Grayson Owens as Leo. Grayson Owens adequately captured the inner turmoil of Leo–who has struggled to be comfortable in his skin given his twin brother’s fame & the insecurities that come with being mistaken for someone who is living out your initial hockey dreams. The problems that arise cause pain, guilt & regret, and Owens tapped into those emotions while delivering his narration, giving a believable & moving listening experience.

Aiden Snow as Jace. This was my first time listening to Aiden Snow narrate a book & I’m sold. Snow’s deep timbre matched Jace’s persona as the solid foundation for Leo, as well as Riley, and his delivery captured the nuances of Jace’s complex feelings about the relationship dynamics at play.
