About this listen

Uncommon lives...
Oceanographer Cecil Elizabeth Jordon, PhD, is not only cold on the outside, but also on the inside. Stunningly attractive, her perfectly-shaped swimmer’s body makes men sizzle, and she knows it. Tougher than nails and honed from the roughest parts of East LA, she slams against the norms and mores of conventional society. If she wants a man - she has him on her terms and then brushes him aside like so much lint...but Don Dixon would not be moved.

Uncommon needs...
Handsome, virile, and mysterious - a lethal combination, Donald Dixon operates in the shadows everywhere. Like thin air, he leads an invisible life. In his profession, he could not risk being with a high-profile woman...until he sees Cecil and knows he will risk everything...including his life...to be with her.

Uncommon choices...
Caught in the milieu of the dichotomies between their private and public personae, they make all the wrong choices for all of the right reasons. Risky business for them both with danger lurking too close for comfort.

Excellent!

I'd read the book, which I loved, but the audio took the experience to a higher level. Kelley Hazan is talented and Ann Jeffries' Family Reunion series is truly one of a kind, with vibrant, rich and exciting characters. And the intimate scenes are the best I've read/heard...spicy! I couldn't stop listening to all 28 hours! Bravo!

Uncommon Choices

Such a well developed and detailed story. With being able to see both Cecil’s and Don’s backgrounds, it really showed why they made the choices they did. Well done Ann Jeffries!

Kelley Hazen is one of my all time favorite narrators. Her ability to consistently voice so many different characters is amazing. I love being able to just close my eyes, listen, and just be totally immersed in the story.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Dynasty

Uncommon Choices by Ann Jeffries is a fabulous generational listen. The family dynasty and dynamics pulled me in. The choices made in the book had consequences and rewards. The author wove a great book full of heartbreak, love, redemption, and lasting ties. Kelley Hazen was amazing performing this book. She brought the characters to life. I could hear various ages, ethnic groups, and both genders perfectly. This is an awesome listen!

Ann Jeffries I’m so happy to meet you!

Although I have heard of the author and Jeffries I have never read one of her books. Had I known it had such good representation of women who are strong and stand on their own 2 feet, make their own money and still enjoy the company of a man with such a good storylines I would have started reading her years ago. After I started this book, I went to search out her other books and before I was done I had downloaded two more. If you like complicated romance stories, opposites attracting and just plain love at first sight I’m sure she has a book for you. Ask for this book it was recommended to me by and Hazel the narrator who I don’t know personally, but love her now ration very much. In this story they have six-year-old DJ who I think they give too much power to, but I know parents truly treat their children like that so it was all copacetic with me then bears Cecile and Don Senior the hot and sexy daddy of little DJ. Although they are separated they spend the summer together to give their little boy a semblance of a family he’s always wanted but never had AN so he can decide who he wants to live with mommy or daddy. I know this sounds simple but it is Way more complicated, because Don Senior has a job where he is usually surrounded by security makes secret entrances and exits from buildings Cecile doesn’t know what he does DJ has no idea what his daddy does but someone knows what he does in that reason alone they want to kill him. Now when the S***hits the fan that’s when it gets good! I totally recommend this to those Who likes a little action with a lot of romance and moments that make you go hmmm!

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it intriguing and suspenseful. Cecil is proof if you work hard your dreams will come true and she believes this until the man of dreams appears and just won't go away. As Cecil keeps impressing the world with her research, she is surrounded by a world of intrigue without her knowledge of it. Suspense and humour dominate this novel. It's interesting and intriguing characters keep you listening, wondering what unexpected twist will happen next. It's very enjoyable and I'll have to check out more books from this series.

Great Read

Uncommon Choices (Family Reunion: Wisdom of the Ancestors #4) was a great read by Ann Jeffries. Cecil Jordon is an oceanographer who meets Don Dixon although she isn't sure she wants to find a man. Donald operates in the shadows and is very mysterious about his work and life. He always has security around him and carries a gun but won't tell Cecil what it is that he does. I absolutely loved reading Cecil and Donald's story and can't wait to read more by the author.
