Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Tina Folsom presents: Venice, early 1800s.

Isabella Tenderini, a wealthy merchant's widow, rescues a stranger from drowning in one of Venice's canals. And how does the man repay her selfless act? By kissing her - her, a respectable woman.

Not only is Raphael di Santori grateful for his life being saved, he would also like to thank his rescuer very intimately - more intimately than decorum allows. But then, Raphael has never been one to play by the rules - as a vampire he doesn't have to.

Short but Steamy

I have read this entire series and love them. So imagine my happiness when these books were realized on audible and with Eric's silkier than sin voice doing the narration. Oh My!!!

The books are novellas set during the 1800's in Venice, Italy. A group of vampire males are living a life of wealth and carnal pleasure on the fringes of Venice society and trying desperately to escape the prosecution of a group of individuals known only as the Guardians of the Holy Water. Raphael is a vampire that is rescued by Isabella when someone pushed him into the canal and he slowly starts to drown. Isabella rescues him and Raphael is instantly attracted to her. But because Isabella is a respectable widow, she doesn’t want anything to do with him that is until Raphael sneaks into her bedroom late one night and desires began to boil. Because this is a novella, the story moves at a faster pace but that don’t mean it isn’t a well written story. It is indeed a good story and Eric’s
voice is like butter, so smooth and rich. WOW!!!

Warning: this book contains highly sexual charged scenes. If this is something that you do not enjoy reading than stay clear, this is not the book for you.

Sensual, thrilling, honourable scoundrel

If you could sum up Venice Vampyr in three words, what would they be?

Sensual, lustful, enviable

What was one of the most memorable moments of Venice Vampyr?

His vulnerable, blind trust rewarded when she pulls the trigger.

Which character – as performed by Eric G. Dove – was your favorite?

Definitely, Raphael! There was a sinful sensuality about his voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she had the gun trained on him and he asked her to make it quick, because he couldn't live without her love.

Any additional comments?

I read these books a long time ago, but the audiobook made it even more enjoyable this time round! Thank you!

HOT HOT HOT HISTORICAL PNR NOVELLA

I’m not going to lie I picked this audiobook purely because Eric G Dove was the narrator. I love his voice, ok I have a crush on the man’s voice BUT this story was really good! And so HOT! Steamy scenes everywhere. This is almost a perfect PNR, had it been full length it would be perfect.

Good book!

Wow. This book was really good the first time I read it in ebook format. This time, I listened to the audio and, Holy Moly, talk about dirty. It's a hot kind of dirty, but dirty none the less. I enjoyed the journey with Raphael and Isabella. I enjoy period pieces and this one fit the bill... with a bit of extra goodness included. Well done to the author and the narrator.

Rated R

This was just sex. No plot. At least not an original one. The sex scenes were pretty well written, but were plentiful.

Hot scenes

It’s a short book so don’t expect all the details of a great love building romance but I knew that going into this. This has some hot love making scenes. Narration could have been better. I’ll definitely be finishing the series for the sex.

Very Hot

Smokin hot paranormal romance. I'm not ashamed that I was in it purely for sinful reasons. The narration was ok. Didn't love it and would have liked to hear a female narrator or have duel narrators. I liked it well enough.

Short but enjoyable :)

3-3.5 stars

This was a good story. I liked Isabella and Raphael and their story was short but enjoyable.

Isabella is a merchant's widow. She's wealthy because her husband left her his business and money. His cousin ins't happy about that fact and makes her life hell trying to find some way to disgrace her and take her holdings. Her husband died a year before due to drowning and she hasn't found anyone to gain her interest since then.

Raphael is a vampire that lives in Venice. He has a brother and friends in the city (all also vampires) but usually exists on the fringes of society so he's less likely to be noticed. He and his fellow vamps have had issues with a secret society trying to kill the local vampires. Raphael runs in to trouble when someone pushes him in the canal and he starts to sink.

In this story, Vampires are extremely dense and weight more than normal humans so they drown very easily as they can't swim strongly enough to keep themselves from sinking. Raphael feels someone push him in to the water and he has nothing to grab on to so he's drowning and sure he's as good as dead. Isabella is riding in her gondola when her and her "driver" see a man drowning. Her servant is too weak a swimmer to save him so Isabella jumps in to save the man. She takes him back to her place but realizes her impropriety of having him in her chambers quickly and sends him on his way. Raphael wakes up thinking he's died and Isabella is an angel but soon realizes he's survived. He is attracted to Isabella and is sure she's attracted to him too so he's very confused when she sends him home. He comes back later though and in the night, in her bedchamber, Isabella succumbs to his seduction. Unfortunately, her late-husband's cousin isn't willing to let things lie and makes trouble for them. There's also some difficulties as Isabella realizes that Raphael might not be who she thought he was and worries about what to do. If I go too deep I'll give everything away but lets just say that Raphael and Isabella have some tough issues to resolve between them. The attraction is strong and they can't stay away from each other but trust and love is slower in coming. There's drama they have to deal with but things work out and the story ends with a nice HEA.

This was a good story. It's short and not very deep but it's a nice way to spend a couple hours. I liked both the main characters and was happy to see them get their HEA. I may try the next book in the series in the future.
