At home in the overlooked intersections of dreams, meadows, and used bookshops, Casey has always known herself as a witch, hedge-walker, and weaver between worlds. Having been gifted her first tarot deck for her thirteenth birthday, Casey began her occult and magical studies early on, and her fixation with enchantment has been a strong thread through her life and work ever since. Her published divinatory tools include Wanderer’s Tarot, and Wyrd Sisters Oracle. In 2018 Casey founded Modern Witches, and hosted her first Modern Witches Confluence; a symposium for seekers and witches over Samhain weekend. Casey’s life and work aims to uplift the healing power of witchcraft, particularly as we face unprecedented planetary crises. Currently living in Northern California, you will find Casey wandering through the forests, baking bread, offering oracular counsel, and making art in collaboration with her spirit helpers. Casey Zabala is an artist, intuitive tarot reader, practicing witch, and author of the Wanderer’s Tarot deck and Guidebook (Weiser books, 2021 and 2023) and the Wyrd Sisters Oracle (Weiser, 2024.) Casey has a M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness from CIIS, and has studied creative writing at Pratt Institute and Naropa University. Casey has been interviewed for "Sabbat Magazine," Taschen’s "Library of Esoterica: Witchcraft" and has contributed to "Witchology Magazine." Writing from the intersection of the seen and unseen, Casey’s work draws on dreams and divinations, and aims to remind us how to communicate with the other-than-human wisdom all around us.
