Dionne D. Hunter, a U.S. Navy Veteran, is an accomplished writer and poet. Raised by her widowed father, she developed self-reliance and a deep pride in her African American heritage. Her love for literature led her to explore various genres, including poetry, romance, sci-fi, and horror. As a poet, Hunter found spoken word to be a powerful medium for expressing her emotions and ideals. Hunter's work has been featured in anthologies published by Writing Knights Press, The Poet's Haven, and Crisis Chronicles Press. Her spoken word videos have been recognized at prestigious events worldwide. Ms. Hunter work has also been showcased in the Equity in Art web series, where her poignant portrayals of social justice, discrimination, grief, and culture have been celebrated. Her debut historical fiction story, "I AM A DAHOMEY WARRIOR!" explores a young girl's journey in precolonial West Africa through evocative long-form poetry.
