Acerca de esta escucha

This novel contains graphic sexual descriptions and themes and is intended for adults only.

Arabella is a work of Victorian erotica that is, in some ways very much like Fanny Hill but in others very different. Both have many explicit descriptions of sexual activity, but Fanny Hill never uses "bawdy language". Arabella, the narrator of the story, has no problems using such language. As one reviewer wrote, "In the tradition of Fanny Hill, but far steamier!"

Arabella is a proud woman of Victorian England who rebels against the puritanical norms of society. She learns early in life that she loves the pleasures of sex and is in no way ashamed of her feelings. In fact, she felt sorry for women who did not experience the joys of sex but saw it merely as a rather "shameful duty". She describes, in great detail, the many “erotic adventures” she and her friends participate in behind the closed doors of fashionable Victorian homes. Like many erotic books of the Victorian era, her story gives a fascinating look at the "sexual underground" of Victorian society.

In "offical" Victorian society, talk of sex was to be avoided and the act itself, performed as little as possible. This book, like many others written at that time, is a reaction to that mentality. It goes way over the top the other way. The characters talk about sex all the time and "do the deed," as often as possible, with as many people as possbile. It's fantasy more than reality. It is however a fun fantasy and often quite humorous. I thought the readers both did a good job. They "played it straight," which is to say, narrated the book intelligently, but did attempt to "act it out." Some people like that kind of narration, To each his own.
Use common sense, and listen to the sample first, before you buy it. What you hear is what you wil get. Five stars.

Over the Top sexual fantasy.

Uneven reading made the story hard to understand. The story was a fun telling of Victorian sex.

Great story, poor narration

Someone tell the narrator she is performing not just reading monotone sentence fragments.

The plot had potential but the word choices were so bad as to be laughable.

Unable to get through second chapter and returned.

Horrible Narration
