I love that Lucy is strong enough to want to explore a sexual relationship with her longtime friend Rylan. It is quite the sexual awakening experience for Lucy when Ry takes her to the club. I loved how commanding and possessive Ry is with Lucy, and Lucy's response is breathtaking. This is so sensual, erotic, and all out hot, and I loved it. More please. The narrator made this a great experience.

This is my first read from Anna Ambrose. This book was hot, heavy, and sexy. The writing style overall was really good for a newish author. This book is really short and sweet about an hour and 21 minutes long. So if you guys are looking for something very charged with sexual energy in this book is definitely for you.

I absolutely loved the narrator for this book. As you guys know I am a person who likes to listen to my books at a very high speed. This time I listened to this book it at about 2.15 the speed. The reason being is because I find anything lower than that depending on the book it is a little too slow for me. I feel like I’ve built up a tolerance do anything lower than that. Anyway JB is amazing when it comes to tone and there’s so much emotion that she puts into her voice while reading this book. I also have never heard a book near rated by this woman before. The production of this audiobook was incredible there were no awkward spaces. While speeding up the book all together it wasn’t bad. When I was listening to it it didn’t sound like I was listening to a chipmunk which is fantastic. I really don’t want to give much away because as I said this Book is only an hour and 21 minutes long.

Although I will say this it is a bout a girl who goes basically to a sex party for the first time with her best friend. That’s all I can give you because the rest will just be major spoilers.

ItNow I want to get into the Dreamcast. There are a few people who I think based off the cover I think would make a really good addition if this works you ever get turned into like a 15 minute movie.

Very hot very creative! I love short, hot and sexy stories that are right to the point. I really loved this narrator I had never heard her before she did both voices great!

Lucy tired of being the nice girl wants to see what the thrill of group is. She makes her best friend take her but she has to participate. She is shocked by what she sees but it also turns her own. This book is short but hot. Great Narration

The Doors Are Open

I often struggle with stories that involve what I call Con non-con. Consensual non-consent. In other words, you are consenting to everything that is going to happen to you and once the scene begins, you can not pull out of the arrangement. Basically, you’re consenting to give up your ability to consent. This is a real thing and it does go on in BDSM, but it should be extensively negotiated and only embarked upon by educated and experienced partners.

Lucy is neither educated nor experienced. Yes, she can agree to Ry’s rules, but that is because she has no concept of what she is getting into. To the reader, it is obviously she is beyond naïve, but it’s obvious she thinks she knows what she’s agreed to. The question is – can you consent if you have no concept of what you’re going to see or partake in? In this story, you can. In real life, I don’t recommend it.

But fiction is about escaping real life and, in this tale, Lucy is the embodiment of a puritanical upbringing. If children are ‘protected’ from sex ed, they are more likely to wind up pregnant or with diseases. If abstinence is preached, how are young men and women supposed to be able to protect themselves? Because let’s be honest – virginity pledges are all well and good, but when hormones are involved, common sense tends to go out the window. Lucy justifies her actions, claiming they are because of her feelings for Ry.

Also, truth be told, I wasn’t sold on Lucy’s motivation. Sometimes she’s going to the party to take revenge on her ex, and other times it’s to get close to Ry. As the synopsis says: a variety of group M/F, M/M, and F/F scenes in a friends-to-lovers college-sex-club setting. Given that, the name Open Door makes sense. Interestingly, this is a party that does not allow voyeurs or looky-loos. Nope, Lucy is expected to be a full participant, following Ry’s every instruction.

I’m not going into detail of all the variety of acts taking place in the sexual cabal. Every possible combination is performed and although that can be titillating, in the structure of a novella, there wasn’t enough time to flesh out (pun intended) the relationships. The characters were reduced to first name and physical description. Intentional, for sure, but even people at a sex party are more than just body parts. The next installment in the series is a full-length novel, so I do have some hope.

Also, as an aside, lots of profanity is not necessary to have a rough sex multiple partner romp. A few swear words are fine, but they should be used for effect, not just tossed around. Too many and they become meaningless. The story was missing depth and although hot, I had trouble seeing how Lucy’s entire life might change after just one night. In fiction, I suppose it can.

JD Elcie is a new narrator to me and I quite enjoyed her performance. She carried Lucy’s adolescent character well, balancing that voice with the deeper voices of Ry, Xander, and Liam.

Although I didn’t love this audio, I definitely enjoyed it and would be interested in listening to the next book.

A good start to what promises to be a good series

A sexy storyline. Where can I get a best friend like this? Well written and narrated. Not for the timid. Perhaps the shy introvert, who doesn't want to experiment on her own. LOL I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. It was fun

Oh Lucy!

Not for the sexually repressed.
Lucy is desperate to have at least some time with Ryland; to be close and, hopefully, have sex. She pushes Ryland into taking her to his sex club where he saw her cheating boyfriend. Ok, so it doesn’t hurt that she can also get revenge; since she’s never gotten satisfaction with their mediocre sex life. And, since he was only a poor substitute for Ry, she’s going to do whatever it takes to learn what Ry needs; if she can be what he wants for at least once. Be prepared for MF and MM scenes as Lucy explores her sexual limits.
Elsie is able to voice this young adult woman with emotion.

Lucy starts out as a sheltered girl who was raised in a religious family but with the experiences she has with Dylan and the Open Door Policy sex club, she learns the truth about herself... and it's hot.

JD Elcie narrates the story and does a great job bringing the story out and letting the characters speak.
