I enjoyed this audiobook more than I thought I would. I'm not a huge audiobook person, but I do think they can be convenient for getting a book in while also doing other things. I definitely found myself enjoying the narrators a bunch. they both brought the story and characters to life and made the book more interesting. Definitely recommend!!

I remember when I first read this story years ago. It was so different from anything I've ever read. I loved revisiting it in audio form. It is a dark story, and not for the faint of heart, but with a happy ending. If you've tried Kitty Thomas before, this is a classic from her. If not, it is a good chance to dip your toe into her worlds. These are listed as dark romance and they can be dark, but like I said, the endings are always good.

And in the author's note, there will be a second and third book coming at some point. I love forward to seeing more of this world.

Narration
I've listened to Lucy Rivers before and really enjoyed her. I was excited to see that she was the narrator for this story. I have not listened to Gregory Salinas, but I found his narration enjoyable as well. I would listen to either of them again for sure.

I read this story a few years ago, and jumped at the chance to listen to the audio. I loved the book, but the audio takes it to another level. Hearing each character in their own voice I created the emotional intensity. It's fantastic! This isn't an easy book. It deals with some deep subjects, and could be triggering, but I also think the story is beautiful in a disturbing way. The characters are deeply flawed, and I'm not sure they make each other better for being in a relationship. I also can't imagine them surviving without each other. The added epilogue brought a new flavor to the ending, and I'm excited to know there will be more books coming.

The Story

This book is about a woman named Grace who is into kink and agrees to go to an island with a man she's never met. Once there she gets more than she bargained for but somehow a savior appears to save her from the dark, can she accept him and his help?

I love this book! Grace is such a great character I loved her so much and Asher and how sad both of their stories are until they find each other. This story is dark so be aware in case you don't like this genre. The story is compelling and the characters are well developed and the end is pure perfection. A definite great read.

The Narration

Gregory Salinas is one of my favorite narrators so having him read one of my favorite Kitty book was amazing. I loved him as Asher, he brings out the despair and regret of the character that makes you fall in love with him. Lucy Rivers is also great, she always does a great job narrating heroines with troubled pasts. Great narration by both of them.

This was one of my favorite audiobook to date. I absolutely love the performers. I love when you get a male performer for the main character as well as a female performer. The female also uses her voice for another character (male-the second main male character).

I read this story in the past and forgot how much I love this story. It has always been one of my top three from this author. A definitely must for all dark romance lovers

Kitty Thomas is my hands down instant read. I love her writing. Always on the dark side, and honestly, I'm always pulled into the story with an easy sense of love! I enjoyed this so much! It was such a thrilling story about making the wrong choice and not knowing if it could ever be resolved!

I'm so happy that I finally sat and listened to an audible. This was a fantastic first experience. Both Gregory and Lucy made it so enjoyed. I didn't think listening to that prologue could make my heart ache more than actually reading it, but it did. And WOOO Gregory's voice had me melting in certain scenes 😍

I loved the narration. It was killer.

Grace's journey was so good. I loved Asher. His changes throughout the story are so great. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The book is really dark at times but it just makes the story more powerful. Overall a good read.

I am very clearly biased because all of KT's audiobooks are my favorite. Gregory and Lucy truly blew this out of the park though. Grace and Asher have been brought to life so beautifully. I already want to listen to this over and over again.

Tender Mercies by Kitty Thomas. Holy darkness Batman! In some parts, this was a hard story to read/listen to. It is very descriptive in all its’ dark and depraved glory. Grace jumps into the fire thinking she is ready for the ultimate sub experience unfortunately she lands in the mercy of a bad dom and her stay is painful to say the least. Fate steps in and bring Asher to the party where he rescues Grace and treats her the way a true dom/sub lifestyle should be. Reader beware- this is full of dark and dirty and at times disturbing drama, along with explosive hot and heavy scenes. For me, I found it hard to let go even as I came to the end of this journey.
