A vicious killer is walking free, hiding in plain sight...

When a violent crime spree erupts in small town Garnerville, Police Chief Sidney Becker puts her four person force on high alert. It starts with the vicious killing of a beekeeper in what appears to be a burglary gone horribly wrong. But the next morning a scantily clad woman is found murdered in her home. Bee-related evidence found planted on her body connects the two homicides. Becker’s team is now looking for a killer who is extremely knowledgeable about bees. As the investigation digs deeper, dark secrets of a sexual nature come to light. The case of a young woman who vanished without a trace is reopened. Other beekeepers come forward who have been attacked and had their beehives stolen. Respectable men in the community with spotless reputations are swept into the vortex. Suspicion is cast all around and Becker’s team must put out multiple fires. All of these crimes are somehow related. Becker needs to unravel the threads—fast. A vicious killer is walking free, hiding in plain sight.

The story? Ugh. Authors should keep in mind to write about what they know. If "50 Shades of Grey" is the height of risqué then maybe writing about that genre is not for you. This author clearly thought no one else would recognize the signs of a dominatrix and thought she was cleverly leading us to that, Meanwhile the narrator... was not familiar with the correct pronunciation of many common words. "Defensive wound" was pronounced as someone wound a clock. If the letter "t" was left off the word "thought " it was pronounced as"though" even if that word made no sense in the context. A question starting "Does he...? was pronounced as though it was a group of female deer". A vehicle model is not " Ford." "F". "One hundred fifty". It was so distracting!!! And when someone calls the emergency number they generally do not say it as "Nine". "One". "One, separating each number with a paragraph break. I seriously feel this was mislabeled as being read by a narrator when it was actually Virtual Voice as no human could do it this badly. But then my husband pointed out that ChatGPT does not make those mistakes when reading out a paragraph do I don't know.

Narrator that could be mistaken for AI
