Ok ok ok so I listened to the book and absolutely loved the performance! The Lillian and Vincent I will listen to anything they do amazing!!!!! The book itself lord have mercy I cried I CRIED!!!!! It was a good ending to the series.

So well worth waiting for, this brilliantly written conclusion to the Trial series was magical and magnificent! Not without a bit of sadness, the characters I have come to know and love, along with some surprising and wonderful additions, surround Leslie to try and defeat the ancient curse that has plagued the Kingmakers for over a thousand years. The dialogue is witty, sassy, realistic and engaging. The scene setting is clear and the consistency spot on, leaving this listener with no unanswered questions! The character development is off the charts. These characters seem so real! I love how they have grown and changed over the course of the series, especially Leslie. I really love the person she has become. No spoilers, but there were tears, laughter, more tears and such a feeling of satisfaction at the end of this story! A word about the narration. Unbelievable! Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson deliver an unbelievable performance! It is spellbinding! All the feels does not begin to describe or do justice. The voicing choices, the emotion, the cadence, this is voice acting performance at it’s absolute best. Sit back, close your eyes, and just experience the magic of five star writing and narration that is Trial by Heart. You won’t regret it! I know I don’t. I loved it!

An enjoyable ending for the whole series. Full of joy, adventure and some sorrow for balance. A very entertaining story.
As always the narrators did a splendid job of making the story live.

I'm happy with the ending, but sad over the sacrifices necessary for it to happen. I cried most of the way through the story, because I knew someone would be sacrificed and I bonded with each man. This was a great emotional series. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

I had forgotten what it felt like to feel so strongly from a work of fiction, and this series helped me feel again.

For that, I cannot recommend the series enough. I think that this is easy to get into regardless of your history with other vampire or werewolf books. Lizzy Ford does a good job of bringing a unique perspective to this genre, and Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson do a great job of bringing her characters to life.

I read this series more for the story than for the sex scenes - Other reviews have said that the sex scenes were either too much, or not enough. Personally? I didn't feel like they detracted from the story. I think that the sex scenes did a good job of illustrating the passion and emotional complexities that Leslie faced during her trials.

I enjoy the author's sense of humor. There were scenes that had me cracking up.

I genuinely could not put the books down. I felt anticipation, I felt happiness, I felt sadness, I felt goosebumps again.

Highly recommend.

This last book in the series had my head spinning! Lizzy sure did write an awesome series that led to fireworks. This book finally sheds light about the trial Leslie has had to do over the 3 wks. You will love the outcome of this full story line! There is a 4th player that has your jaw hitting the floor. Lillian and Vincent tell this story with so much passion you feel right there in the book. Let me just say that Vincent has one smexy growl. Love it all!

As someone who has listened to literally hundreds of audiobooks this year and who has failed to finish many series, I was thrilled to find a series I could not stop listening to. This series had the perfect combination of intrigue, quick pacing, and spice, which kept me intensely interested until the very end.

POV and narration: Loved dual narration but single POV from FMC’s perspective. It is rare to find this! I prefer single POV because I don’t necessarily want to know what all the characters are thinking because it gives away the mystery. Both narrators were also perfect (excellent prosody and appropriate sounding age).

Story: Fantastic! The story keeps you guessing and wanting to know more. Could not stop listening!

Spice: Just the right amount! Never got bored with the spice. Plenty of explicit scenes for those of you, like me, that like some smut, but not so much that it overtakes the story and leaves you bored.

Note that all the books are on the shorter side and each book ends on cliffhanger (this is not a standalone series). The pacing is fast. I would say the romance is fast burn but because our MFC “trials” different MMCs, it feels appropriate and never gets boring. It is NOT a reverse harem despite multiple possible love interests.
