Reagan is the next virgin tribute/concubine for the beast aka protector aka Drake, who protects the people in Sanctuary from the mutants. She is a strong willed feisty young woman who fought elders for choosing her. They gave her a humiliating examination in preparation for the beast to give him a baby. She tried to escape but the beast caught her. He was very rough with her and made her beg him to pleasure her and spank her. He only saw her as a tribute and concubine and reminded her of this often. I like alpha males, but he was too much. At times, I could not stand him and was hoping she would knock him out. This book did not strike me as romance until near the end, although I guess it was developing. By the end of the book, I wanted it to continue longer to find out how Reagan and Drake handle life in the new world he helped create and what happened to the people in Sanctuary. Nikki Monroe did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Nikki Monroe is a new narrator to me. I thought that she did an excellent job of conveying the emotions and personalities of these characters to the listener.. She is an amazing storyteller whom I will be happy to listen to again.

In this futuristic world mutants are dangerous and people barter for goods and protection. One town offers a virgin tribute to the Beast every year. If she doesn't get pregnant, she is returned and a new one takes her place. It's Reagan's turn this year, but she is rebellious, strong willed, feisty, and brave. Not exactly submissive material, but the town is happy to see her go. Drake, the Beast, is intrigued by Reagan's spirit. Drake is definitely the strong alpha " you do what I say" man. However, it's entertaining to watch how these two change over the course of the story. If you don't like erotic sexy books with abundant spankings then you need to pass on this book. I highly recommend this Audible book.

If sex and lots of it is not for you, then this is not the book for you. It is involving breeding and sexy times. I thought it was a fresh storyline. The protector of the community after a mutation has almost killed of the population requires a virgin as tribute and his goal is to procreate. I loved the heroine as she is sassy and strong. Drake the protector is hot hot hot. Nikki Monroe does a great job. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book is a post apocalyptic view of what has occurred to make mankind hind inside a sanctuary guarded by a beast. A beast who demands a virgin tribute each year for said protection.

Reagan is the chosen tribute for Drake. She sassy, smart mouthed and not welling to be taken without a fight.

Loved that she tried to get away even knowing that there were creatures that may get her in her plans to get away from the beast. Yet she doesn’t realize how Drake would react to her defiance. Seriously sexy times in this audiobook.

Nikki Monroe delivers a great performance of these two and their acceptance of one another and their instant attraction to one another.

Nice look into an apocalyptic world of the future by Delta James with a sexy alpha beast and the woman who comes to hold his heart.

I received this audiobook at my request and this is my honest opinion.

Virgin Tribute takes place in a post-genetic mutation world. Raegen is chosen a that virgin tribute if the year for the protector. This audiobook is really intense and dark. Nikki Monroe narration was good.

Very Dark stand alone

The genres listed included gothic and sci-fi, so I was expecting Beauty and the Beast meets Frankenstein, maybe with some steampunk. But there is zero gothic and only enough sci-fi to attempt to justify the sex. This is instead a post apocalyptic Seattle, where a kink loving mutant uses and discards girls … and where an entire enclave of humans helps him, not to mention participate in groping and degrading the “tributes” before offering them up.

This could still have provided a sexy story, but the dialogue and plots are horrible. He is a Neanderthal and she is a TSTL girl who repeatedly places herself in danger. Oh, and she’s insta-lusting and begging for his dom-douchery within seconds of meeting him. And again. And again. So many ruttings where he makes her beg for his “turgid” member and recite her words of praise as his “tribute and concubine.” And spankings turning her on, of course. And the constant talk about putting a baby in her womb. Gag me.

Better written post apocalyptic or sci-fi romance includes:

Fall by Claire Kent (novella that goes sci-fi and also Neanderthal)
Outlaws trilogy by Elle Kennedy (full length books with post-apocalypse plot and dom/sub shenanigans)
Beyond series by Kit Rocha (full length books with post-apocalypse plot and maximum dom kink)
