so disappointed

I was so looking forward to this and I'm so disappointed in it. This is only good if you have read both the comic and novel. There's so little description! If you have not read the other publications, you would have no idea what the wolfriders or the trolls look like. I would have much rather have had the novel done as an audio book.

Javi is a dick

It's hard to get into a romance when it takes more than 10 chapters for one of the guys to stop being an ass. I'm not sure what chapter Javi stops being such a stuck up asshole because I had to stop when I reached chapter 10 and he was still a snobby bitch.

great story but read way to fast.

the story was great but i almost didnt finish listening to it. the narrator just raced through the reading as he was embarrassed that he was the voice for the book. i even checked the speed to make sure that i had not sped the narration up on accident. after slowing the reading down i was able to finish the book.

Loved it.

There are every few writers and actors that I will delay taking my pain meds until i can finish a book. I started reading this when it firat came out because well its on of Rhys Fords books and I have never not liked one, but as I was reading I found myself unhappy with the voices that I was hearing. it turns out that what I was missing was Greg Trembly's reading.

These book could have been shorter.

By chapter 4 I was highly sick and tried of being brow beating with Kiliens needing something new and his father vomiting the "its for the better of the city." These chapters are over an hour long and if you cut out the repeated "I need something new" and the "women are evil and nothing can change for the better of the city" they could have been half that.

Good story wrong voice

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I could not finish this book. I may go back and read it but as an audio book I will never finish this book.

Wrong choice of actor

Would you try another book from Sara York and/or Stan Jenson?

No I would not. Had I listened to a preview of the audio I would not have bought this one.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

This was like listening to Grandpa reading porn. Stan Jenson's voice is nice but it is clearly an older man and as much as his voice fits the old gruff cowboy it does not fit when talking about how sexy a guy's jeans fit his rear. At least for me.
