Historia
Lieutenant Commander Mick Riley, a member of the fabled SEAL Team Six, can't pull his eyes from Lacey Owens at the funeral of his mentor. Yet she is the type of woman he wants to avoid-the kind that gets him thinking about settling down, spawning kids, and finding lower-mortality employment. Lacey has her own reasons for avoiding Mick. Tired of living in the shadow of her financial mogul sister, this real estate agent has tossed ethics aside to succeed in today's beleaguered housing market. Her no-fail plan to land lucrative listings?

Nothing important happens
Revisado: 04-30-25
This is one of the most boring books. I had to skip forward, looking for something noteworthy to happen. Even the conflict was boring and you knew from the beginning it was coming.
The narrator didn’t help, with her monotone, just accentuated the boring.

A combination of hilarious and blah. First book is good, second acceptable, third should be skipped
Revisado: 04-29-25
The first book was good and funny. Georgia is a bit too much. She is far too anxious at times but also incredibly funny so it kind of balances out. The wedding vows are one of the best things I’ve ever heard. Both sets of parents are great.
The second book is OK, but gets repetitive without adding much to the story with the G&K scenes. I wish it was more about C&T. This is where Georgia becomes more annoying than fun, unfortunately.
Book 3 should be skipped. There is some humour but you have to wade through too much blah and boring descriptions to be worth it.
By the end of the 3 books you hear the same things so many times, their sex scenes, her loving him and finding him good looking and his similar sentiments toward her, they just get boring and annoyingly repetitive, instead of romantic/hot.
Narration is mostly good except for CJ Bloom. She is not suited for anything romantic or hot, in my opinion. She has a very loud, manic way of speaking like she is always either angry or super excited, nothing in between. Her sex scenes are just way too loud.

Story makes no sense, characters are unlikeable
Revisado: 04-24-25
I don’t know if this will mean anything to others but this book is hollow. The characters are flat. There is nothing to draw you in, unless you enjoy darkness, bad people and gratuitous swearing. Half the duration is spent by the two main characters explaining how attracted they are to the other and what kind of sex they would have. Repetitive, uninteresting words. You don’t feel anything. I kept skipping forward, to get to something interesting. By the time something happened, I couldn’t be bothered to care anymore, just waited for the predictable end to come. I see no reason to read this nook or this series and certainly no reason to buy any of this author’s books, even though I enjoyed a few of her “happier” ones. At this point it just seems like a gamble, not worth the money.
Narration was acceptable.

He never bothered with hello. The shrieking hot stranger had me dizzy the instant he said we're engaged. Then he chased off the bully on our heels and dragged me back to his place for the night. Pure insanity, right? Wrong. You don't let pride do the talking when you're homeless, on the run, and hauling around your sick father in a truck so old it must've been on Noah's Ark. You definitely don't complain when Ridge Barnet takes charge. (In)famous heartthrob. Stinking rich. Fed up owner of one angry rooster. Eyes set to permanent storm.

Story OK, narration bad
Revisado: 04-22-25
I like this series because it sort of reminds me of the A-Team, with their penchant for bringing down baddies. I like the main male character, not so much the female.
The narration is annoying. I try to avoid books read by Tor Thom, because he has a very unnatural speaking cadence and always seems out of breath. Ms Costa’s female narration was only slightly better, but she tried the same rhythm as the male narrator, for some reason, whithout sounding out of breath, though, which is a plus. Both narrator’s other gender voice is pretty bad.
The story is OK, nothing unexpected. The “reveal” is pretty drawn out and overall, it is too long. Of course, we see the ever-present, annoying tropes that writers use to allegedly “spice up” the story: people going off script when it hirts the others the most, including the female character so that the main male character has to improvise; the female character’s low opinion of herself, thinking she is not good enough for him… Sex scenes are same old, duplicated from dozens of books like this and not very exciting.
Overall, it’s not too bad for the genre. Probably better in book format, where you can avoid the bad narration.

Historia
I’ve been listening to my father sing for my whole life. I carry him in my pocket on my MP3 player. It’s just that we’ve never met face to face. My mother would never tell me how I came to be, or why my rock star father and I have never met. I thought it was her only secret. I was wrong. When she dies, he finally appears. Suddenly I have a first-class ticket into my father’s exclusive world. A world I don’t want any part of - not at this cost. Only three things keep me going: my a cappella singing group, a swoony blue-eyed boy named Jake, and the burning questions in my soul.

Good story, bad writing
Revisado: 04-18-25
Narration is OK. Nothing extraordinary but OK.
The idea, the story of a girl in that situation, trying to navigate, is good. If this were much shorter (like under 2 hours), it could have been acceptable overall, even with the disappointing (lack of) evolution. I enjoyed other books by this author but this one is a huge letdown for me.
The writing, all the unconsequential stories, all the superfluous details, is bad. I would say it’s worth it and maybe for somebody in the correct age range it is. Maybe I am too old to enjoy it but I feel that the ending is just blah and that there are so many unanswered questions, so much unfulfilled evolution. Maybe the girl has grown up enough and maybe the lesson is that she left all her baggage behind and can have a happy life. Her father, though, is one dimensional, through it all. He is a song writer, which would mean that he is at least a little sensitive and empathetic, but he is complete,y oblivious to other people’s feelings and has no protective instincts of his daughter’s heart.
I personally wish I didn’t start this book because I kept waiting for something meaningful that never came. It was a disappointment and a huge waste of time.

Too long and frustrating
Revisado: 04-17-25
The heroine’s selfishness is frustrating. Then the hero’s weakness adds to the frustration. He loves her, in spite of the serious character flaw he sees, which is hard to believe. He is also very undecided about most everything. All this, combined with the unrealistically “archaic” language, makes this difficult to listen through (although I doubt it would have been much better to read). I set it to 2.2 speed, to get to the end.
When I initially saw that this is part of a series, I was happy, but now, I doubt I will be reading any of the others.

Rule number one for the team owner’s daughter? Don’t date the players. Especially not hotheaded tight ends with tattoos and impulse-control problems. That’s why Dominic Walker is completely off my radar. Sort of. Babysitting the team troublemaker when he’s forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can’t exactly avoid him. I wish I had though. Because once I get to know Dominic, it’s almost impossible to ignore the feelings he brings out in me. Pretty soon, I’m breaking all my rules. I just have to hope he doesn’t break my heart in the process.

Story acceptable but reactions are exaggerated, narration is weak. This is a forced sequel.
Revisado: 04-08-25
The story is forced. Both good and bad are exaggerated. The conflict and motives behind it are weak and silly.
The pace of the narration was so annoyingly slow that it forced me to listen at 2x speed. The voices, especially the female narrator, are often so soft that I couldn’t hear what they were saying, had to rewind and slow down to 0.7x.

And my new intern is perfect for the job, though pretending to have a relationship with her might be a little taboo. Good thing I'm in charge. Being a self-made billionaire, I haven't spent much time looking for love. None actually. Lucky for me, it's fallen right into my lap. This pretty American girl has zero sense of direction, but a good heart and a sexy smile. I've always been smitten by a woman that needs rescuing, or so it seems. Something tells me that she might be more than I bargained for.

Unrealistic story
Revisado: 04-06-25
The female protagonist is naive and it’s difficult to believe she is smart in her job while being so silly and lost in everyday life. The guy is weak with o discernable personality, other than playboy combined with arrogant rich guy.
The idea that Greeks randomly speak English to each other, in business and personal lives is absurd. They would use very American idioms and very select English words while not understanding or misusing very basic expressions.
This was bad writing and frustratingly silly throughout.
Narration was OK, although the accents were annoying.

Here's the deal. I'm 16, and I'm getting married. Super weird, I know. It was just me and my dad. We lived on a cattle ranch in Montana. He died suddenly, leaving me an orphan (which is still a thing). I'm 16 months away from being a legal adult, so I have two choices. A foster home or marry Jake Talley. My dad's foreman and really, my best friend. It's legal. It solves all my problems. Except now, I'm living with Riverbend's hottest cowboy - my husband in name only - and I'm still in high school. Where no one wants to date weird, married Ellie.

The story is OK, book ends on cliffhanger
Revisado: 03-30-25
I should have made sure the book is a standalone when I started so tht is my fault. I was looking for something short and got caught up in it only to realize that it’s one of many because the author suddenly changes the premise right at the end. I won’t get the rest of the books because it can turn out to be a soap opera and never end. Will be avoiding this author in the future.
