Meh...
Revisado: 10-30-16
Story wasn't as good as the first book. And I'm really starting to dislike the main male character. The whole book was so so, leaning towards not good.

Historia
The perma players' new reality gains depth and color. The virtual world has seen its first birth - and its first death. The invisible umbilical cord connecting AlterWorld to Earth grows thinner, and even the Fallen One cannot prevent the looming catastrophe. Could Max have ignored the Russian girl who'd just escaped slavery in a virtual China? Could he have turned a deaf ear to her pleas as the desperate fugitive clutched at straws on hearing her native tongue?

Better and better
Revisado: 10-20-15
Where does The Duty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I thought out of the three Alterworld books, this was one of the better ones.
What did you like best about this story?
World building and but kicking.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was happy with everything in the book. New skills, world building, cool bad guys, and epic story.
Any additional comments?
Alterworld is one of the series where you can't just read one book. Its a journey that made me buy all of t hem in one go. I think everyone should enjoy both the kindle version and the audio book versions.

Incredible novel, awesome audiobook
Revisado: 10-19-15
Would you consider the audio edition of AlterWorld to be better than the print version?
I loved everything about the written book but listening to an audio book on my way to work always fires me up. Especially, a book so well written.
What other book might you compare AlterWorld to and why?
Since its the first of its kind I have read I couldn't compare it to some other book. Just imagine living in a MMO.
Any additional comments?
Awesome book. More please. THanks

Historia
The Kobani use captured Krall ships to return to Human Space. They seek expert training for their genetically modified fighters, modern weapons and new medical technology. There's a possible block to this help in the form of death penalty laws of the Planetary Union, prohibiting gene modifications of humans. A holdover from the Gene War, which nearly extinguished humanity. A perilous descent through a war torn planet's space defenses is a first step.

Building something great.
Revisado: 11-05-14
What did you love best about Koban: Rise of the Kobani?
I loved the development of the Kobani and there kicking butt attitudes.
What did you like best about this story?
The world building. I love the detail the author puts into the Koban universe. I can't wait to see were the story will lead us next.
What does Eric Michael Summerer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Yes. Listening to Eric Michael Summerer brings the story to life. I feel like each character he voices is brought to life by his performance.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but there aren't enough hours in a day or enough coffee in my house. Come on. It's more than 28 hours long.

Historia
Here are four stories derived from the same universe as the Koban series. Listening to the series is not required to understand and enjoy these stand-alone tales. Australian Krall: A fully gene-enhanced Kobani woman finds herself trapped in total darkness and underground, pursued by hundreds of slavering, semi-sentient, maniacally aggressive, and hungry aliens. Walk with her on the dark side!

World building and some good old shoot em up fun
Revisado: 07-31-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this set of 4 short stories to anyone that has already read/listened to the books in the main series. The 4 short stories gives us some understanding of the Kobani people and some of their furry friends.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Koban Universe 1?
By far the Smuggler short story was the best of the 4 stories and could become its own short novel. I loved seeing more of how the Kobani kick butt with attitude.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Once you start listening to each story you would put it down. Even after listening to all four stories I found myself listening to the Smuggler story over and over.
Any additional comments?
Another great installment. Would probably not make much sense to someone not familiar with the other stories. I can't wait for book 4 and for the audible version of book 3. Keep up the good work.

Historia
Already faster and more powerful than the last 17 species that they have destroyed or subjugated, the Krall have set their sights on humankind. After testing humans on their future home world of Koban and finding them worthy opponents, the Krall start a war of slow extermination with the rest of humanity. The war is intended to last generations as they apply their own version of "natural selection" to cull their weaker warriors in combat, purifying the Krall gene pool with their finest warriors for breeding.

Out Standing 2nd Book
Revisado: 05-22-14
Where does Koban rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This novel is at the top of my list. Its only been out on the market for a week and I've listened to it twice.
Any additional comments?
Listening to this novel always makes me want to read the 3rd book. I can't wait for the 4th book to someday be released on the kindle and eventually on audible. Keep up the great work.
