Good story about maturity, friendships, and findi
Revisado: 02-12-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Stuck In Downward Dog to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version.
When I was listening to this, I kept thinking to myself how clueless can a grown woman be? But then I reflected on my own life and realized I didn't always have the answers and were at times just as clueless.
Godd story about maturity, friendships, and finding one's joy in life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stuck In Downward Dog?
The dinner party incident.
Which character – as performed by Morgan Hallett – was your favorite?
I liked the main character's friend. He was honest and true.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I can't say that I could listen to this all in one sitting but I could listen to it for a long duration.

Historia
Abby Halladay has the perfect life. Or, rather, she will…as long as everything goes exactly according to plan. Abby never leaves anything to chance — not her job as a syndicated columnist, not her engagement to her fiancé, Fred, and certainly not her impending wedding in Paris (New Jersey, that is).Unfortunately for Abby, even the best-laid plans often go awry — like when Fred runs away to Paris (France, that is), her column is canned, and her dream home is diagnosed with termites. Forced to move back in with her parents and drive her dad’s cab, Abby’s perfect life has now officially become the perfect disaster. Then a funny thing happens. Slowly but surely, Abby begins letting go of her dreams of perfection. As she does, the messy, imperfect life she thought she never wanted starts to feel exactly like the one she needs. Poignant and heartfelt, Changing Lanes celebrates the unexpected joys of everyday life — and the enduring promise of second chances.

I haven't but again I would try to listen to another.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes.
Did Changing Lanes inspire you to do anything?
I do think it was somewhat inspiring. Nothing seemed to go well for the character and I thought that was very realistic.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Honestly, everything was great up until the ending. It was like dropping off a cliff. Highly disappointing.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I have no idea but a modern romance or a modern story about women in their 40's.
Which scene was your favorite?
Hmm, this book is kind of sappy and predictable so I can't say that I have a favorite.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NOT WITH THAT ENDING.

The premise became annoying....
Revisado: 08-24-13
What did you like best about A Thousand Tiny Cracks? What did you like least?
At first I thought this was a story I could relate to and I enjoyed it for the most part. But midway, the character annoyed me. I mean I found the character complaining on and on about how alone she felt nauseating after a while. And to have an affair with a younger man only to realize in the end she needed a job for fulfillment?
I saw it through the end but I did not feel sorry for the character at all.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I have so many in my library that I'm at a loss but it has to have a more spirited and intelligent character not so needy and emotional.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Midway through it became more of a boring monologue from a spoiled housewife.
Did A Thousand Tiny Cracks inspire you to do anything?
It just made me realize how stupid some women are.

Historia
Heloise considers it a blessing to be a person who seldom attracts attention. In her suburb, she's just a mom, the young widow with the forgettable job, who somehow never misses a soccer game. In the state capital, she's the redheaded lobbyist with a good cause and a mediocre track record. But in discreet hotel rooms throughout the area, she's the woman of your dreams - if you can afford the hourly fee. For more than a decade, Heloise believed she was safe, managing to keep up this rigidly compartmentalized life. But her secret life is under siege. One county over, another so-called suburban madam has been found dead in her car, an apparent suicide.

It kept me interested.
Revisado: 12-12-12
What made the experience of listening to And When She Was Good the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed the narrator's voice. Looking forward to hearing more work she's done.
If you’ve listened to books by Laura Lippman before, how does this one compare?
This is my first book from this author but I intend on listening more now that I've listened to this one.
What does Linda Emond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I really enjoyed her voice. Not too much inflection but not too boring and she differentiates characters well without trying too hard.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I thought some things were unrealistic but sometimes even the truth is unrealistic.

The story really made me lose faith in women
Revisado: 11-13-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
For a sappy woman I guess but not for the realist.
What was most disappointing about Beth Harbison’s story?
It was interesting but to hear of a woman pining away for a man who didn't care enough to be honest with her is just terribly disappointing in this day and age. Who is that foolish in life? Aren't women over the fairy tale already?
Which character – as performed by Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?
Cam is the best and most realistic character. Out of the mouths of babes, they say.
Could you see Always Something There to Remind Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
The story is very Hollywood.

Revisado: 09-18-12
What did you like best about An Accidental Affair? What did you like least?
The narrator is awesome. Very good diction and command of language. Great with accents. A good storyteller. But really? Some corny writer kills a known family of thugs? So unrealistic that it's actually funny that the writer thought readers wold be bowled over by it.
Would you recommend An Accidental Affair to your friends? Why or why not?
Sure but some of my friends would be just as disappointed by the ending.
Have you listened to any of Christopher Lane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've not listened to him but love his voice.
Could you see An Accidental Affair being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes since Americans seem to love the unrealistic.

You're left completely wondering what's next with all the characters. I felt it was way too incomplete...like the story just cut off.
But the narrator is wonderful and the writer is good at detail.
