I like this story because this story is a nice story that takes place in Japan and that it has a nice plot and supernatural elements.

Historia
Long ago in Russia, a proclamation went out through all the land that whosoever could build a flying ship would win the hand of the Tsar's daughter. But when a country bumpkin and his oddball crew of extraordinary friends show up to claim her, the Tsar quickly has second thoughts. Robin Williams is hilarious as he narrates this retelling of a fantastical Russian folktale.

Historia
Cinderella is the story of an orphan girl subjected to the tyranny of her evil stepmother and her two stepsisters, who manages to find the strength to wake up and empower herself. A classic revisited that preserves the beauty, magic and characters of the original story. Enjoy this wonderfully produced fairy tale, narrated by professional actors and set with music and sound effects.

Historia
"Just So Stories for Little Children" is a collection of origin myths. The Just So Stories each tell how a particular animal was modified from an original form to its current form by the acts of man, or some magical being. For example, the Whale has a tiny throat because he swallowed a mariner, who tied a raft inside to block the whale from swallowing other men. The Camel has a hump given to him by a djinn as punishment for the camel's refusing to work (the hump allows the camel to work longer between times of eating).

Didn’t like that the title of the audiobook kept repeating between each chapter. It was like a broken record. The narrator was okay. The stories are the same.

Historia
Mimei Ogawa, a prolific author of short stories nearly 100 years ago, is considered to be one of the founding figures of modern Japanese children’s literature. He has also been called the Hans Christian Andersen of Japan because of how his works were influenced by Andersen. This collection contains a fresh, modern translation of one of Mimei Ogawa’s most famous works, "The Mermaid and the Red Candles", as well as several other stories that have never been translated and published in English before.

I was disappointed that this audiobook didn’t have the many Japanese stories I’m familiar with like Peachboy, Kaguyahime, Kachi Kachi Yama, Urashima Taro etc. Plus it’s a bit too short for me.

I thought the book was okay but not great. The ending was too abrupt for me. If you're looking for a satisfying conclusion, look elsewhere.

Too sugar coated
Revisado: 12-29-21
This audiobook takes away too much of the Shakespeare parts of the plays and dumbs them down too much for children. The dialogue is so changed that it doesn’t even resemble the plays lines anymore. Would not recommend this even to children. They would find this too over the top.

Your family will be fascinated by the classic story of Noah, who is instructed by God to build a huge ark to save his family, and two of every kind of animal, from a flood that will destroy the world. Beautiful music by The Paul Winter Consort and evocative narration by Kelly McGillis powerfully illuminate the simple majesty of this wonderful tale.

Good overall story about Noah’s ark
Revisado: 07-22-21
I liked the music that was in the audiobook. The narrator’s voice was pleasant. I can understand how people might think this isn’t accurately quoted in terms of the Bible. Even if it doesn’t include all the Bible’s quotes, it’s still a good introduction to the biblical story.

Historia
Since their first publication in 1812, Grimm's Fairy Tales have proven to be an enduring feature of Western literature. The stories have been translated into over 100 languages worldwide, and their influence has cast its spell on many film makers, as well. The stories were collected from traditional storytellers from around Germany, usually women, and the motivation to collect them grew out of the wave of romantic nationalism of the early 19th century.
