Historia
From trips on private jets and encounters with world leaders to shocking accounts of misogyny and double standards behind the scenes, this searing memoir exposes both the personal and the political fallout when unfettered power and a rotten company culture take hold. In a gripping and often absurd narrative where a few people carelessly hold the world in their hands, this eye-opening memoir reveals what really goes on among the global elite.

Lost me
Revisado: 04-24-25
As a 65 y/o grandmother, I was really into the story until I realized the author had a political bent. She brings up all the misinformation put out by the 2016 Trump campaign, but failed to mention that same claim on other political figures of the time. Primarily the Clinton campaign's blatant lies of Tulsi Gabbard. Then to side w/a woman's baseless claims, which literally had zero evidence, yeah, she lost me
She describes her sadness, and the rest of the 20 somethings in silicone valley, after Hilary lost. Just her bias on that discredited the rest of her story.

Don't miss out on this experience!
Revisado: 09-16-24
I have close to 400 books in my audible library and I think I've left 2 reviews. I could not NOT leave a review for this one!
The narration was the best I've ever experienced! It's as if Ms Hannah had written this book specifically for this narrator! Absolutely beautiful job! The story! Omgoodness, the story! The characters! The absolute beauty of the strength and resilience of women! At times I wanted to slap Laretta... At other times, I just wanted to hold her! At times, I wanted to scream at Elsa... At other times I just wanted to hug her, look into her eyes and tell her she was beautiful and loved! My gosh! I've never gotten so emotional about fictional characters! This book, these characters will remain with me forever! An absolute must read! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I wanted MORE!
Revisado: 09-10-23
Absolutely the BEST book in the series! It was heartbreaking, breathtakingly beautiful, infuriating, and it left me wanting justice! However, the author and the narrator showed God's grace, blessings, and mercy at every turn! Phenomenal read! I found myself watching the timer to see how close I was to the next BIG event!
It breaks my heart to know humans treated other humans like this and thought the way they did! The author did a fantastic job of bringing such evil to light, but lovingly outcast that darkness with God's love!

King Solomon was wealthy and wise beyond measure. He could - and did - have anything he wanted, including many women from many lands. But for all his wisdom, did he or the women in his life ever find what they searched for all of their lives? In this engrossing novel, you'll find yourself whisked away to ancient Israel, where you'll meet Solomon and four of the women he loved: Naamah the desert princess, Abishag the shepherdess, Siti, the daughter of a pharaoh, and Nicaula, the queen of Sheba. Did Solomon's wisdom ultimately benefit him and those he loved...or did it betray them?

Mediocre at best
Revisado: 01-24-23
I've read countless books by this author and I hate to say it, but I was very disappointed in this one.
It was hard for me to stay interested and I kept waiting for it to get better... It never did. I just couldn't get into it.
I LOVE all of her other titles, just now this one. I gave it 3 stars because of her creativity, but the story just didn't do it for me. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but it's the best I can do.

LITERALLY THE BEST BOOK!
Revisado: 12-13-22
Not wanting to diminish her entire life struggles, which is really what the book was about... I'm just shocked at the ending! I knew who did it, then I didn't... Then I knew... Then I didn't.... The twists and turns were absolutely gripping!
Kudos to the narrator... phenomenal job!

Historia
Seventy years ago, Joe Rubinstein walked out of a Nazi concentration camp. Until now, his story has been hidden from the world. Shortly before dawn on a frigid morning in Radom, Poland, 21-year-old Joe answered a knock at the door of the cottage he shared with his widowed mother and siblings. German soldiers forced him onto a crowded open-air truck. Wearing only an undershirt and shorts, Joe was left on the truck with no protection from the cold. By the next morning, several around him would be dead. From there, things got worse for young Joe, much worse.

I've read MANY books about the Holocaust, but this book.... Omgoodness.... This book.... I just can't find words to describe the impact this book had on my heart!
The thing I'm most appreciative of, is how Mr Rubinstein NEVER blamed God and kept his faith throughout the most horrific ordeal imaginable!

Here is the astonishing, never-before-told story of the greatest rescue mission of World War II: when the OSS set out to recover more than 500 airmen trapped behind enemy lines. During a bombing campaign, hundreds of American airmen were shot down in Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia. Local Serbian villagers risked their own lives to give refuge to the soldiers, and for months the airmen lived in hiding, waiting for rescue.

Revisado: 05-06-22
Absolutely the best book I've read regarding WW ll! Great job on the narration as well! I hate the political games that were played against a very brave man! It makes me so angry that his life ended without ever truly knowing how much he meant to America, Americans, and his service overall for his beloved country!
