Historia
The masterpiece of Rome's greatest poet, Virgil's Aeneid has inspired generations of readers and holds a central place in Western literature. The epic tells the story of a group of refugees from the ruined city of Troy, whose attempts to reach a promised land in the West are continually frustrated by the hostile goddess Juno. Finally reaching Italy, their leader, Aeneas, is forced to fight a bitter war against the natives to establish the foundations from which Rome is destined to rise.

Historia
Victoria Baker, the penniless widow of a disgraced financier, is ready to stand up, be counted, and make a new life for herself and her beloved son in Texas. She’s taking over Crooked Creek ranch, her birthright, and turning it into something special. All that stands in her way is Eli Turnbull, a rugged, too-handsome cowboy who wants the land just as badly. If Victoria wants a fight, Eli will give her one. He’s devoted his life to Crooked Creek, and he’s not about to let some pampered city girl - even one as brave and beautiful as Victoria - turn it into some silly spa. But Victoria’s and Eli’s burning anger and frustration only fuel heat of another kind....

Finding true love?
Revisado: 05-19-16
Susan Denakee is an outstanding narrator who makes the story so real, you forget she is reading it. This second book by Mollu O'Keefe, a follow-up to "Can't Buy Me Love", which deals with the brother's romance, now centres on the sister's romance, as well as the mother's. No matter what happened before, the women found true love the second time around.

Using a variety of vocals, John Lee's narration really brings the story to life, especially when imitating women's voices. This romantic story presented a fascinating mystery to guess at.

Robert Fitzgerald's translation of The Odyssey has been the standard translation for more than three generations of students and poets. Macmillan Audio is delighted to publish the first ever audio edition of this classic work, the greatest of all epic poems. Fitzgerald's supple verse is ideally suited for audio, recounting the story of Odysseus' long journey back to his wife and home after the Trojan War. Homer's tale of love, adventure, food and drink, sensual pleasure, and mortal danger reaches the English-language listener in all its glory.

The Odyssey
Revisado: 04-25-16
Wonderful! I love to listen to Dan Stevens narrate. He brings the characters and story to life with his vocal intimations. I am transported to another time and place. This story, The Odyssey, was quite exciting the way he narrated it.

Historia
Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy was the incandescent life force of the fabled Kennedy family, her father's acknowledged "favorite of all the children" and her brother Jack's "psychological twin". She was the Kennedy of Kennedys, sure of her privilege, magnetically charming, and somehow not quite like anyone else on whatever stage she happened to grace.

A true-life Jane Austen story
Revisado: 04-22-16
Eliza Foss' narration makes the story interesting, and it was exciting to hear the history of Chatsworth, it's lineage and also its similarity to Jane Austen's book, Pride and Prejudice, as Chatsworth (Pemberly), the Fitzwilliam dynasty, and the name "Georgiana" are part of both stories. The 2008 version of Pride and Prejudice will it's special features will be viewed with more interest now.

Historia
Since it was first published more than 25 years ago, Robert Fitzgerald's prizewinning translation of Homer's battle epic has become a classic in its own right: a standard against which all other versions of The Iliad are compared. Fitzgerald's work is accessible, ironic, faithful, written in a swift vernacular blank verse that "makes Homer live as never before" ( Library Journal).

Revisado: 04-19-16
It's a pleasure listening to Dan Stevens narrate. He makes every story he narrates exciting. Fitzgerald's translation of The Iliad makes it easier to read and Dan Stevens narration of it makes it doubly exciting and so real. I feel as if I'm in the midst of the action.

Historia
Where did Roald Dahl get all of his wonderful ideas for stories? From his own life, of course! As full of excitement and the unexpected as his world-famous, best-selling books, Roald Dahl's tales of his own childhood are completely fascinating and fiendishly funny. Did you know that Roald Dahl nearly lost his nose in a car accident? Or that he was once a chocolate candy tester for Cadbury's? Have you heard about his involvement in the Great Mouse Plot of 1924? If not, you don’t yet know all there is to know about Roald Dahl.
