As a novice to risk management, I found this audio book quite easy to follow and rather balanced. Given that this is a mid-2010s version, some of the examples are dated however, the 'Leasons learned' really help put the content into real applicable scenarios. I also appreciate the fact that there is very little jargon throughout the book. This makes it easy to stay engaged.
Good work, great content and awesome narrator.
Cheers,
DG

This is a highly pertinent book for anyone in leadership. with the continued growth of M&A formed organizations, it's even more difficult to find leaders who know the right things to do and are able to do those things the right way day after day.

I feel this is a 'sticky' way to, entertainingly, tackle the subject without diluting the core messages about the challenges of good leadership and the sustained benefits of cascading great leadership procedures.

this is a very quick read which I recommend for any senior and/or executive leadership group.

Cheers,
DG

I struggled through this one. there are definite gems in here however the structuring in some areas seemed overly academic to me and hence made it a little challenging to stay engaged. That was not the most glaring issue for me, the narrator and narration were by far more difficult for me.
The narrator has a 'heavy' tongue (I myself have that issue) and this makes enunciation a tad muffled at times. furthermore some words are completely omitted so I had to replay the audio a number of times before getting the full context of a lesson.
I feel this might be a better book than it is an audio book. There are also other authors in this space with similar content but delivered in less academic ways. I don't think it's fair to list them here but a simple genre search should surface them.
Good work by the team, however not the best fit for me specifically.

DG

*Apologies for misspelled character names*

Okay, first impressions, I feel the narrators got me through this one. I may not have finished it as a physical book.

Cons
Without giving it away, I'd say that the overall pace felt unnecessarily drawn-out.
The Shallan character arc is honestly exhausting to me and alas she is a central character to the series.
I zlso found Lirin's character just tiring here. I found his arc to feel rather flat. That might have been by design, not sure.

Pros
Maya, Adolin, Navani, Raboniel and Rlain had far more engaging and/or pivotal roles. For me, those characters MADE Rythm of War.
I could go on about how rich these characters' roles are here but I might spoil the fun.

Summary
I found this to br a necessary read in order to stay apprises on the Stormlight Archives series. However, where Oathbringer felt a classic which I couldn't pry myself from and Ways of Kings felt so original and gave you completed and layered characters to love AND love to hate, Rythm of War just feel 'procedural and necessary ' in too many areas. That's unfortunate as I feel it could have been 100 pages shorter and still delivered an awesome punch. This not only #4 in the series, it's also ranked 4th currently in the series to me from my Rnjoyment and Rave about it' gauge. It falls after Worss of Radiance.

This just one person's take so by all means, please calibrate with other opinions. This is still a very good read/listen which you could find rather entertaining.

Hope some of this proves useful.

DG

The Foundation for Organizational Transformation

I have read several transformation books from Radical Candor to Humble Inquiry including several books by the Heath brothers and I have found all of these to be invaluable to transformation. That said, 'The Fearless Organization' is 'Mindset' (Carol Dweck) for the team/enterprise-at-large.
I truly feel as though this is the definitive'must-read' for any executive officer and/or team engaged in organizational transformation.
Amy Edmondson marries data with vulnerability in a way rarely achieved. She arms you with a panoply of techniques to give voice to the voiceless masses while gently dismissing the notion that transformation is either'mushy' and/or too slow and unrealistic. The example of the transformation in the South African mine was a really strong example of a commitment to transform an entire organization in a a very 'fixed mindset' industry.
I cannot recommend this book enough to any transformation evangelist.

This is yet another take on thinking through asking more insightful questions. However the author takes a less busines-only prescriptive approach and opts instead for a more holistic approach thus encouraging an Observe, React, Judge and then Intervene (ORJI) process.
This is a another quick read with good and clear content that is easily and immediately applicable in any setting be it personally or professionally.

This is a real 'How To' from someone who's done it at different levels and in varying settings.
Kim's experience is tangible and prescriptive while at the same highly humanized.
Her experience at Google, Apple and Juice touts the best of each of these bastions of modern day management excellence, which often present as infallible, however she provides a bird's eye view of some of their limitations and where their philosophical tenets start to falter as organizations scale.
Kim shows a great deal of ownership and vulnerability in her candor and gives clear step by step instructions on how to implement radical candor.
I have only read the revised version. However, from the introduction, I think her revisions address some key misinterpretations of the original book. For that reason, I recommend the revised version of the book.
This is another invaluable read for any leader (whether in management or an individual contributor) who wants to gro themselves and their organization in an honest and caring way founded on FAIRNESS.
Great book.

This is a compilation of experiments into how people behave natively and how we are subconsciously manipulated.
I most appreciated the unbiased nature of all of the experiments as well as the simple explanations on what governs our behaviours.
The light heartedness of the narrative also makes the a quick and engaging read with equally simple steps to replicate and/or leverage.
Quite a fun and insightful read.

This is a quick read with good descriptors. That said, you get the same descriptors from the site once you complete the online assessment. The difference is that the book adds examples which are not online.
The entire package is a tad too sales-driven in my opinion. Most of the books I read have an immediate/direct application/correlation to my role in leadership. This felt more like an affirmation of what I already knew about myself. It definitely added some pertinent information surrounding how I should work with like minds and which alternate personalities complement me the best. As such I feel I still got some level of value add from the book. However, I would say that you could opt to pay for the online assessment and get 90% of the book's content.
If you are new to emotional intelligence and that style of leadership, this is a good simply and direct way to get started.

I've been a fan of the great courses audio books and specifically people like Prof. Roberto. do I took a chance on this book.
I am simply short on words to describe how poignant these collective courses are. I am the Director of Transformation for the Tech. & Innovation branch of my org. and this is immediately applicable in do many facets from managerial financial accounting to marketing.

I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree and yet I feel that what I learned here trumps all those years of formal education.

If you are a leader in organizational transformation, I strongly encourage you to read this book.

I am now searching for a print version to accompany this audiobook.

This is hands down one of my most valued professional development books.
