Historia
Swan Peak finds Detective Robicheaux far from his New Iberia roots, attempting to relax in the untouched wilderness of rural Montana. He, his wife, and his buddy Clete Purcell have retreated to stay at an old friend's ranch, hoping to spend their days fishing and enjoying their distance from the harsh, gritty landscape of Louisiana post-Katrina.

One of the best...
Revisado: 10-24-10
When I have to stop listening to these novels I feel like I am leaving old friends and can't wait to get back to them as soon as I can manage. Will Patton makes these novels come alive and I doubt anyone could do a better job of narrating, Dave Robicheaux couldn't possibly sound any different.
James Lee Burke is able to describe emotions and events in a manner that keeps me in awe. He doesn't just write a story he is a master of words and has an uncanny ability to break down the human condition to the simplest of forms with style and grace.
He does not possess just talent and imagination, his is a true gift.

Historia
A team of marine scientists is on the verge of making the most stunning discovery in the history of man: a previously unknown predatory species, alive now, evolving just like the dinosaurs, and being forced out of its world and into man's for a violent first encounter.

The concept was good and started out with potential, however ended as a min. word essay littered throughout with broken story lines. The characters were weak and reminiscent of a party of "Ed Flanders" out in the world for the first time. Never being able to connect with this group it at least relieved the listener from the suspense of hero's in trouble, I found myself wanting the beast to devour our troupe at every opportunity. The only word that came to mind following the anticlimactic end was "HUH"
