Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Interesting
Revisado: 11-06-22
It’s fascinating how life in South Africa is. Growing up in The Bronx and being of color you get to read about an experience of someone so far away but yet how it hits close to home. I first took intrigue when I met Trevor in person and met all of his friends while we went to go paintball shooting in Los Angeles. I had not known anything about him other than him taking over The Daily Show and being a political science major loving some of the jokes. Seemed to me that he was very close to his childhood friends and had such an appreciation for them. After listening to this book I feel awkward about something I did that day when we went paint balling. Trevor was actually on my team and I being a shit shooter ended up shooting him in the back of the head. Now after finding out what happened with his own mother I definitely don’t find it as funny. He’s a great guy and wishing him the best of luck on his endeavors.

Best Mayor of all TIME!
Revisado: 06-07-22
Growing up in NYC specifically The Bronx, you get to see the stark difference between the rich and poor. This mayor had an ego that worked. He knew if he couldn’t get it done no one could. It was the right type of NY mentality that was needed. I experienced his tenure and admired his radical approach to tackling these tasks. I am certain that stop and frisk saved many lives. I want to be hopeful that the city helps with the cruise ships for homeless to be temporary homes while they find full time solutions. Anything is better than homeless shelters in The Bronx (worst experience of my life). Mike should have been President the guy is such a Maverick.

What a story
Revisado: 10-06-21
This was exciting. I love how you do not have to know the science of it but you can enjoy it. The end is just incredible. I love how he put all this together with a human mind to be able to have such creativity to creat Rocky in his story and make the reader care. This guy is awesome. That ending though 😭

Historia
Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: Instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others.

Historia
Discrimination and Disparities challenges believers in such one-factor explanations of economic outcome differences as discrimination, exploitation, or genetics. It is listenable enough for people with no prior knowledge of economics. Yet the empirical evidence with which it backs up its analysis spans the globe and challenges beliefs across the ideological spectrum.

Breath of Fresh Air
Revisado: 07-20-20
Thomas Sowell gives me reassurance that things I was skeptical about growing up have for sure been true. He brings about case evidence to lead us to findings that we should really question. Essentially how big government can be detrimental to minorities and how politics at play for the sake of trying to be in the now using key words that trigger people to believing these policies to be beneficial in fact are destroying the very communities they are set to help. Anyone who likes facts based on numbers to give us evidence should really read this book.

Historia
As President Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is one of the few White House memoirs to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the president, John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

WOW!!!!!!
Revisado: 07-10-20
I think this book is very important to read. I think John Bolton is a terrific story teller. This is very revealing. I like his positions and stance on government affairs on the international stage. He is firm and sticks to his morality. I think this is what I personally needed to read to make a more informed judgment on my vote.

Historia
In an abandoned mansion at the heart of Barcelona, a young man, David Martin, makes his living by writing sensationalist novels under a pseudonym. The survivor of a troubled childhood, he has taken refuge in the world of books and spends his nights spinning baroque tales about the city's underworld. But perhaps his dark imaginings are not as strange as they seem, for in a locked room deep within the house lie photographs and letters hinting at the mysterious death of the previous owner.

A MUST READ
Revisado: 06-29-20
This book is full of wonders. As we follow David through his career of writing we see him bump into the mysterious life that he detailed in his own work. Playing out in his real life. He takes us through Barcelona and makes you feel as if you are truly there walking through the gothic district in the middle of the night with the wonders of cemeteries and old buildings that make you cringe as he puts the pictures in your head. The author really makes you care for the character and his surroundings. He makes you love books and entails what the true purpose of books are by comparing books to having souls of humans that write them. It is an incredible read.

Revisado: 02-25-20
I have never read anything of Oprahs till this day didn't know much about her but have always heard of how amazing this lady is. After reading this book I did go on to read some other ones and thought I would review all of them because of her bright light shining through the words. She is just an angel trying to give you as an individual morality and inspiration without force. Wanting you to make the best of your own situation and that happiness is not given its a full time job that has to be worked on every single day.

Reassuring!
Revisado: 02-25-20
Ben does a great job at giving us a look of where we come from in values. How religious ideology has shaped our civilization today. Giving credit to the religious values that are bestowed upon our western way of thought and how this is what makes western civilization great. A look at how not only the extreme left but the extreme right are both trying to tear down something that has been in existence for centuries and has paved the way for humankind to organize itself and make this thing called life a little bit more enjoyable. I recommend this book to anyone who may not be religious but can see how religion is important and has paved the way for you to not be religious and given you the freedom to believe in whatever it is you believe in.
