Good story concept.
Revisado: 04-05-25
i really like the story. Problem was there was a lot of low quality dialog. Also, as each books went on, the main concept of time travel got less. I still liked the story so I bought the next 3 books. More to follow.

The concept of the story was great, the application not so great.
Revisado: 02-17-25
Could have been great books but the story got bogged down with useless details that went nowhere. I would read more books from this author to see if he gets better.

Historia
The siren song of Cerro Gordo, a desolate ghost town perched high above Death Valley, has seduced thousands since the 1800s, but few fell harder for it than Brent Underwood, who moved there in March of 2020, only to be immediately snowed in and trapped for weeks. It had once been the largest silver mine in California. Over $500 million worth of ore was pulled from the miles of tunnels below the town. Butch Cassidy, Mark Twain, and other infamous characters of the American West were rumored to have stayed there. Newspapers reported a murder a week. But that was over 150 years ago.

Revisado: 06-01-24
A very good story. This is great history. Brent's trials and tribulations will make a great documentary 100 years from now. The content is very interesting. My only criticism is the "flight of ideas" style of story presentation. Still an enjoyable read. Brent, keep the town alive. it's worth it.

Excellent stories, but one
Revisado: 04-03-24
Each of these stories got me emotionally invested in the characters. The only story that was not very good was the Rock'nRoll Heaven story. It was as if you let your next door neighbor write it. Should have kept that one back in the drawer. Loved the other stories, though. Good characters and interesting plots. Please, no more like Jimmy Velvet. I'm still a fan. Keep them coming.

An excellent story! Fantastic narration.
Revisado: 12-10-23
This was one of the best sci-fi stories I have read in a long time. A zombie-like hoarde to battle, with a twist. The development of the story and it's pace are very exciting. The story gets you emotionally connected to the characters, like a good story should do. The narration is literally the best I have ever heard.

Good story, mediocre dialog
Revisado: 10-12-23
This is a good story concept. It had great potential but fell flat. The dialog bogged down in unnecessary tedium. Too much time spent on "going nowhere" asides. This hampered the flow of the real story. I was not a fan of the narration, either. I read the first 2 books but could not bring myself to read the 3rd. Sorry I could not fully like it. Only my opinion and no I could not do better myself since I am not a writer. I did like the story, a lot, though.

Historia
Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. Emmy believes it's 2002 and she's still grifting a living from the streets of L.A.

Good story with poor narration
Revisado: 08-25-23
This story concept is very good. I wish the character development was better. Not much on their back stories. I never quite felt any emotion towards the heroes of the story. They all felt superficial. I enjoyed the initial back drop on Grand Cayman. Sometimes it felt like pages were missing from the story. All of a sudden unexplained locations and activity were happening. What made this less enjoyable was the narration. The characters sounded different every 5 minutes. I recommend reading the book and skipping the Audible.

Just not very good
Revisado: 04-20-23
Right from the beginning, I felt no investment in the characters. The main character comes across as pathetic, not as an underdog or hero. The story makes leaps that leave gaps in understanding how it got to the point you are at. I gave it 6 chapters and had to stop. I will try another of this author's books. This could just be a one off.

Great story. Hard to follow.
Revisado: 11-19-22
This was a really good story. Could have been more character development, but the story made up for it. What made this 4 instead of 5 star was that it was hard to follow who was talking. I'm not sure if it was the writing or the narration, that was the problem. Maybe both. I'm going to buy the next book in the series, so I did like it.
