Historia
Weirdly, people don’t react overly well when you’re caught standing over the dead body of a murderer who’d walked free. It’s not that I thought my fellow homicide detective would rejoice when he saw what I’d done, but is a pat on the back too much to ask for? Maybe a gold star at the very least? The problem is that the person who caught me is Gabriel, the only person I care for and adore… and he’s prepared to look the other way if I leave homicide and promise to never kill again.

Great Mystery! Had Me Stumped!
Revisado: 02-26-25
Alice Winters has done it again! This book was unexpected.
I like serial killer stories but this one went beyond that! I do not do spoilers nor do I regurgitate the synopsis (why do people do that?🙄).
Throw in being cops and you have a riveting story.
This book will keep you guessing..it sure did me! I thought I had the bad guy all wrapped up but I wasn't even close. I love a good mystery. I really liked that it wasn't full of 'smexy times'. Sometimes that takes away from the story.
Absolutely need this,to be a series!!! Can't wait for the next one.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Historia
Since parting with Adrien after their first case, Hugh Quartermain has committed himself to one fact: he wants Adrien. With the months-long trip to Brazil ahead of them, Hugh should have no problem confessing, right? The problem is the universe seems determined to thwart Hugh. Between creatures terrorizing his worksite, bothersome Americans, and not having any alone time with Adrien, Hugh's foiled at every turn. When Hugh does get Adrien one-on-one, his advances always hit the wall Adrien refuses to lower, but the rare flare of desire in Adrien's gaze motivates him to keep trying.

Le Sigh
Revisado: 07-31-24
I enjoyed this one much better than the first book. Though you should read the first book so you can see how Adrian and Hugh met and the boys came into Adrian's household.
This story is so sigh worthy, AL ost an old fashioned love story. The problem I had with th first book is the very slow burn, I'm not a fan. But it was worth it.
I was sad to get to the end as I want the story to continue! It has all the stuff I like in a book... love story, number one, some mystery, a little action. Plus you get to see ALL sides, even the boys.
As for ther performance, excellant! The narrator, David Huhyh, carried it wonderfully. The only complaint is some of it was not as fluid as it should be, but it didn't hurt the story or the narration that much, which is why the 4 instead of 5.
I definitely recommend this book and the series! You won't regret it!

I'm overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated, and up to my lavender eyeballs in missing and murdered shifters. To make matters worse, I've acquired a dog. Sort of. He's not actually a dog. I don't know his name or anything about him other than the fact that he's mostly hairless and is blind in one eye-and he's a witness to one of the unsolved shifter murders that's keeping me up at night. We found him at a crime scene, injured and scared, and I just can't make myself lock him up for obstruction of justice, even though I probably should.

Historia
Mortal-enemies-turned-furniture-breaking-lovers August Morrison and Ricardo Torralba have found a groove that suits them both. They’ve teamed up as hired guns, they live together, and by some miracle, they haven’t killed each other. It’s the closest to normal they’ll ever have, and they love it. But, their guns-and-roses future is thrown into chaos when Ricardo’s past comes crashing into their present. What begins as a favor for an old friend - well, “friend”, but don’t tell August - quickly spirals into something far bigger than they anticipated.

Muuuch Better!
Revisado: 02-11-22
I was hesitant to purchase book 2 because the first one was meh.
These are new authors for me and I took a chance with Hitman vs Hitman and I just had to get this 2nd book just to see how August and Ricardo progressed.
This book was much better than the first but I do recommend reading the first book or some of this won't make sense.
There was lots of action and funny stuff. Not a lot of sexy time but enough to keep the love flowing.
I sure hope there will be more books with everyone. I believe there was a set up for a book three..,,I hope, I hope, I hope!!
plus you have the wonderful Michael Ferraiuolo, which is what drew me to this series to start with! I knew he would make this purchase even more with it!

Historia
Rupert is a quiet, thoughtful business man and, sadly, a total wimp. As his life has reminded him on an almost daily basis since, this isn’t the most brilliant idea he’s ever had. And that was before Callum showed up. Callum figures he can push through the rest of the summer, never expecting two kids, a host of friends, and his growing feelings for Rupert to derail everything he has ever believed about what he wanted, and what he could have.

Just What Was Needed!
Revisado: 03-22-21
A couple of years ago in a reader's group I asked about this book being made on audio. It was among the first books that I read in this genre and just fell in love with Rupert and Calum.
When I asked a couple of,years ago about this book being made in audio, I wasn't too familiar back then with narrators. Michael Ferraiuolo was great in narrating this book. He does the accents and you know who is talking.
The story line, it's a slow burn. Not a lot of sexy time but a lot of love. You also have two young boys that you fall in love with.
I don't usually write a review because I'm terrible at it but I just had to say something about this wonderful book. it's not an intense story but I did drop a couple of tears. Also had some giggles. Well worth getting. Enjoy!

As Good as I Predicted!
Revisado: 02-24-19
I have waited for this book to become available in Audible with much anticipation. When I read this book the first time I wondered if a narrator could do it justice, Adam Gold did!
Make sure you have tissues ready when you listen/read this book, it's very emotional. It, to me, is a real love story. No one is perfect in real life so the trials are tribulations of the 2 or 8 makes it even more special. I very seldom give 5 Stars...but this definitely deserves it. Highly Recommend!

Better Than Expected!
Revisado: 01-15-19
I put off reading this book. I've read all the others but for some reason I couldn't read this one, until I did! it is one of THE BEST of the series. Then I had to get the audio! This is the 3rd time in 4 months I've read/listened to it. Rafe broke my heart. Cade is so special. He lets Rafe learn that not everyone will hurt him.
Michael Pauley gives life to the characters that just makes this book more special.
I recommend reading the series so you can get to know the secondary characters but IMO it's not a must as this can be a stand alone. Definitely a must for your library.

Revisado: 11-26-18
When I don't like a book I usually don't review but this one! OMG where did they find this person? The women sound like 5 year olds, old guys sound like frogs and the main character, Lion sounds like a fop!! I actually have this book both ebook and hard cover, I love it so I was excited to get it on audio..... DNF audio and I will be returning it. I'll stick to reading it.

Book, loved it..Narration.....nope!
Revisado: 09-29-18
I love this book, have read it many times. I was so excited when I saw there was an audio of it. I'm so disappointed. DNF narrated book. I'm sorry Mr. Paul but your Ferris.... you made him sound like a 12 year old. The inflection6 were over the top and made him sound like he was constantly asking a question. I had to stop because it annoyed me to no end. The book is a must read. I highly recommend this one and the next, which is How To Save Love which is Spencer and Jesse's story. I'm still on the fence about audio books just for this reason, the over the top narration. I know it's hard to do, I can't read out loud because I always yawn...weird huh. So I have mad respect for narrators. This particular book.... not good...Maybe if redone I'll try again.
