Historia
In the endless forests of the Wild, humanity scratches a living by the side of the great Godroads, paths of crystal that provide safe passage and hold back the infernal tide. Creatures lurk within the trees, watching, and plucking those who stray too far from safety. In crystal castles held aloft on magical currents, seven timeless royal families reign, protecting humanity from the spread of the Wild and its demons. Born and reborn into flawless bodies, the Deathless are as immortal as the precious stones from which they take their names. For generations a fragile balance has held.

Political subterfuge like no other
Revisado: 12-07-24
Many twists, many like able characters, and an equal number of dislikable characters. And I mean that in the best way possible.

Historia
The Vagrant is his name. He has no other. Years have passed since humanity's destruction emerged from the Breach. Friendless and alone he walks across a desolate, war-torn landscape. A s each day passes the world tumbles further into depravity, bent and twisted by the new order, corrupted by the Usurper, the enemy, and his infernal horde. His purpose is to reach the Shining City, last bastion of the human race, and deliver the only weapon that may make a difference in the ongoing war.

A different and better "strong silent" type of protagonist!
Revisado: 03-26-24
Absolutely worth the listen if you enjoy fantasy, post-apocalyptic stories. It's told in a present-tense omnipotent style which may turn some away, but you're missing out. The Vagrant himself is unlike almost all other silent protagonists in the fact that he isn't some overpowered Mary Sue and he isn't even super edgy. He's just a guy that's on a mission. And the supporting cast is very good as well, rarely feeling like they're just there to push a story beat. Can't recommend this book enough!
