Men and those emotions

You hear a lot of people talk about how men hide their emotions. This Collection of stories show that men do have emotions. Those emotions often run deep. Yes men do have their struggles men do have their trials of life, those emotions may not be displayed as how some folks want them to be displayed. Yet, to read this book and failed to see the range of emotions that men suffer with is impossible.

Holy Crow!!!!

Now I’m not a big true crime listener. That is more my wife’s avenue, but saw an blog post about this podcast and thought it looked interesting motorcycles and a skull sounds interesting let’s see what we have.

The whole story had my stomach tied up in knots. I was holding on to this story at every episode. What was going to happen was his cover gonna get blown? What was it like to be in a club? So on and so on. Great story great set up the audio engineering was one of amazement. It kept you on the edge of your seat and disoriented.

Amazing show!

Lot to think about

Sometimes there are actual conspiracies. Now I haven’t read through the foot notes yet and I hope to get a copy of the book so I can verify what has been said. If true were as Americans have a lot of work to do to stand up to those who wish they were as successful as Americas is.

Classic in masculinity

The stages the stages a boy must face are well juxtaposed against the old fairy tale Iron John. While Ashley explaining his own philosophies on what it means to be a man.

I am in agreement that our boys need a rite of passage for becoming a man and that our society is reaping the results of not having strong masculine men in our society.

It can be a challenge to get past Roberts political views but as the book goes on he mentions it less.

The narrator is a little droning though and had to pick the speed up to 1.2x so it flowed a little better but that is the biggest complaint.

Was it recorded in her bathroom?

The recording has so much echo that I would think they hired someone off of fiver and didn’t want to buy the up sell to record in the kitchen. In other words the audio quality sucks.

Now for the information in the book? I’m sure the author was trying to sound hip and relatable to the millennials. Yet it comes off as Dougie Howser trying to sound grown up in front of his friends. I figured there was going to be some cussing going on just by the title, but good god she’s trying to cuss and it’s actually distracting. You can tell in the middle the cussing mellows out. If you can make it that far.

Finally, I wished the author had an editor. Lot of fluffy stuff that could have been cut out.

The first 3/4 of the book is great the last part will push you up against your wall of beliefs. The dr John Gray talks about how you can cure your sons adhd and Autism with homeopathic treatments. It’s a little hard to swallow but who knows.

Overall this is a great book and will be listening to it again. Yet the production could have done with a bit of editing. You can tell when there is a cut in the recording because the narrator repeats himself. Happens several times.

I always wondered what the mystery of Dune was. This is a complex book to follow but it is a incredible epic story. The voice acting is a marvelous touch.
