Historia
It is very rare for a horse, either wild or domestic, to die of old age. This book addresses the why's, how's, and emotions of equine euthanasia, as there are many conditions in horses where this becomes the right decision. This book will help you answer questions about when that time is, and how to prepare for it.

A must read for every horse owner. So helpful.
Revisado: 11-15-23
I found this book at a time when I need it. I am having my two old horses (29 and 30) euthanized in five days. It is the hardest decision I ever made. There is always that thought, well what if this happens or that happens? Dr. Jefferson’s experiences erased the “what if” and made me realize “it is time”. Every pet owner can learn something from this book. Heartfelt and warm. Well done.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

If you are eager to read John and Patsy Ramsey's new release about the mysterious death of their daughter JonBenet, you won't want to miss Perfect Murder, Perfect Town. Schiller creates a portrait of an inscrutable family thrust under the spotlight of public suspicion and an affluent, tranquil city torn apart by a crime it was unprepared to deal with.

I thought this book was going to reveal something new and thought provoking. It is just a rehash of the aftermath of the investigation. The bursts of music at the most inopportune times always took me by surprise and was distracting. I wasted a credit.

Historia
In 1978, two corpses were discovered in the sea off Guatemala. Hooded, bound with ropes and weighted down with heavy engine parts, Chris Farmer and his girlfriend Peta Frampton were thrown from a yacht on which they had been crewing. This is the gripping account of how Chris's family painstakingly gathered evidence against the boat's Californian skipper, Silas Duane Boston, working alongside the FBI, Interpol, and police in the UK and the USA. Almost four decades later in 2015, there was a major breakthrough in the case when, using Facebook, Chris's sister Penny tracked Boston down.

A tragic true crime event that deserves our attention.
Revisado: 03-08-22
This is the true story of a young, trusting, and beautiful couple who by chance met a psychopathic killer. It is a tragic story. Throughout the telling of the events, I kept thinking “if only this had happened” or “if only Chris and Peta had stopped somewhere for a few minutes” perhaps they would not have crossed paths with Boston. Penny’s writing of this book gave me a clear picture of the wonderful brother and friend in Peta so many family members and friends lost. My heart goes out to Penny and her lovely mother and father who did not live to see the diabolical Boston get caught. So many mistakes were made by the authorities. The family never gave up. I hope you have some peace after so many painful years of searching for the truth. Beautifully written. Thank you.

Historia
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

Beach read maybe?
Revisado: 01-29-22
Mallory must be the luckiest woman on earth. Ok, she had a scoundrel of a husband. In real life who inherits a house and immediately meets two hunks, one the contractor, and the other the neighbor who just happens to be a lawyer who hires her as his office manager? Come on. It was entertaining but so unbelievable. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen. Like a mystery or something secret about Carl the cheating husband. The story was more like a beach read than anything to really take seriously.

Not sure what was real or grief driven hysteria.
Revisado: 09-14-21
This story is a disturbing look at a woman plunged into the depths of grief at the loss of her husband. Her mind was so overwhelmed by the loss that I was not sure which circumstances were real and which were imagined. I am not sure what happened at the end. Was it a dream or did she really go on the hike that lead to her death?

Vivica Fox and Teresa Ruiz lead an all-star cast in a story that blends thriller, mystery, and psychological horror for a truly unforgettable listening experience. Fox stars as Tory Newton, a single, no-nonsense woman traveling on business to a bustling border town. When women protesters disrupt the Governor’s big pitch, Tory is thrown together with Alicia, a beguiling activist who promises to reveal a huge scandal. Tory is hooked, in more ways than one - not realizing exactly what she’s being reeled into.

I really like Vivica Fox but this audio drama did not suit her extraordinary talent. The story was confusing. I am still trying to figure it out. I usually love audio dramas, but not this one. I did love the clinking of the ice in the glass, a relaxing sound like ASMR. Lol. Sorry, this was bad.

Historia
In 1959, Olathe, Kansas was made famous by the murder of the Clutter family and Truman Capote's ground-breaking book on the crime, In Cold Blood. But fewer know that Olathe achieved notoriety again in 1982, when a member of Olathe's growing Evangelical Christian population, a gentle man named David Harmon, was bludgeoned to death while sleeping - the force of the blows crushing his face beyond recognition.

Disappointing.
Revisado: 07-21-21
Five years imprisonment for each of them for bludgeoning someone to death? Because they will be paroled in only five years? And how many years did it take to finally get them to trial? Years! The entire book was hard to get through. From the vapid, remorseless wife and boyfriend to the slow investigation and ultimate trials. It did not help that the narrator told the story in such a flat affect. Boring. It is a disturbing realization that there are people who can murder and then just move on with their lives. I did not hear any believable remorse from either Melissa or Mark. This book was disappointing.

Osla's outreach is a welcome distraction for Agatha, who feels restless and underestimated toiling away in a London pharmacy.

Nicola Barber has the most soothing and lovely voice. She can read the dictionary and I will listen. The story is nice and the writer did a good job making it feel like you are there sitting at a small table drinking tea with a famous author. Very descriptive.

I know this is fiction but it reads like it is real. The way Jake mixes real people with fictional people is tricky and it works. Great job Jake Tapper. I like the fact that the author is the narrator.
