Love this audio version!
Revisado: 12-09-18
First, I have loved this story since the first time I read it and then again when I listened to it. There is something about it that resonates with me. It also reminds me of different points in history that I have studied and gives a glimpse of what our world could become, if we let it.
For the narration of this version, I loved it! I never really had a problem with the original narrator, but after listening to this version I don't think I can ever go back to the other. As many other reviewers have said, I would love for the second and third book to be read by this narrator. She really embodies Katniss and what I believe her to sound like, but never realized it until I heard this version. Don't hesitate, get this version, even if you have the other.

Historia
The last novel completed by Jane Austen before she died at 41, Persuasion is often thought to be the story of the author's own lost love. Sir Walter Elliot of Kellynch Hall has three daughters: Elizabeth, who shares his haughty vanity and, at 28 has found no one good enough to marry; Mary, who has, with some condescension, married the son of the local squire; and admirable Anne, who "was nobody with either father or sister".

Love this version
Revisado: 08-28-18
This is my favorite Jane Austin book. And I love this reader. I had listened to her rendition of Pilgrim's Progress and loved how she read that one and then found this version of Persuasion. I know some people might not like this one, but it is the best one I have heard to date.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Second read in a year
Revisado: 07-19-18
This is the second time I have read this book. It is one of my newer favorites. That said, it can be a hard book to read. I cried both times I read it. It gives a glimpse into what it might have been like for those living in France during WWII. Tells a side of the war that most people didn't know until years afterward. I love the narrator.

Surprised and enjoyed
Revisado: 07-02-18
I have read quite a few accounts of the holocaust, both fictional and true. I would say most of them were from either the Jewish or resistance perspective only though, with a few exceptions. This book brought up a part of the narrative that I never heard about before, how Polish women (and men) were experimented upon in the camps and the role that Caroline played after the war. It was also interesting to think about it from the German side (there is always two sides to the story). I did enjoy this book. It did bring tears to my eyes. The three perspectives were great. Normally it makes it hard to follow, but not with this book. I also enjoyed the narration, they did a great job. Overall a good read.

Long winded but good
Revisado: 06-06-18
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit long winded in places and there isn't really any fast action except toward the last few chapters. But I still enjoyed it. It is different from any other book like it, at least that I have read to date. I liked the way the story progressed too. If you are wanting fast action packed adventure, this isn't the book for you. But if you want something with slow action and fairly good story building, give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

I loved the narrators, that they had different voices for each major player. The story itself was good, but I do have one complaint. It didn't tie up the loose ends like I was hoping it would. It felt more open ended than the last book of a series should be. I wanted more of a conclusion, more of a happy ending. But I did still enjoy it, even with an unsatisfactory ending.
