Historia
In a pulls-no-punches essay intended to provoke rational discussion, Stephen King sets down his thoughts about gun violence in America. Anger and grief in the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School are palpable in this urgent piece of writing, but no less remarkable are King's keen thoughtfulness and composure as he explores the contours of the gun-control issue and constructs his argument for what can and should be done.

Don’t agree with the opinion but it was still a good and interesting listen. Absolutely did not like the tone from the narrator. Think he must have really disagreed with what was being read. Overall it was good.

Historia
The host of Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight offers a blistering critique of the new American ruling class, the elites of both parties, who have taken over the ship of state, leaving the rest of us, the citizen-passengers, to wonder: How do we put the country back on course?

Tucker Carlson is an okay guy
Revisado: 12-08-20
If you like Tucker Carlson then this book will not disappoint. Whether you like him or not though he still makes some valid points that ring true for anyone who grew up in a time in America where things were calm. Tucker is definitely a privileged person who speaks about fairness and equality and good values but he doesn't seem to live by his own words. That is what makes him hard to take seriously. However if you didn't know the author of this book and read it without that bias then I think as an American you would like this book. It's sad how divided the country is, if only people such as Tucker would live by what they preach then it would do good rather than just sound good in theory. I would recommend this book to any American but especially for the conservatives.

Historia
Analyzes 13 school “rampage” shootings—including the Columbine High School massacre—and explains, for the first time, why teenagers commit these tragic atrocities. With his grasp of the elements of abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, sociology, and neurology that contribute to the homicidal mindset, Fast offers us a means of understanding and coming to terms with these shootings, and provides examples of what we should look for as early signs to prevent further tragedies.

If you like crime stories
Revisado: 12-08-20
I learned a lot about crimes I hadn't heard of before from this book. It was a great listen as I listened from start to finish with ease because it kept me enthralled. As most stories about school violence it gave most time towards the Columbine killings, but that can be expected. I had no idea that before Columbine there was many other occurrences of school violence that was just as crazy however it was not national news due to the times. I would recommend this book if you can stomach hearing about children dying and being hurt. It can get graphic.

Historia
In the Name of the Children gives an unflinching look at what it's like to fight a never-ending battle against an enemy far more insidious than terrorists: the predators, lurking amongst us, who seek to harm our children. During his 30-year career with the FBI, Jeff Rinek worked hundreds of investigations involving crimes against children: from stranger abduction to serial homicide to ritualized sexual abuse. Those who do this kind of work are required to plumb the depths of human depravity, to see things no one should ever have to see - and once seen can never forget.

Historia
Ten years after the school massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, school shootings are a new and alarming epidemic. While sociologists have attributed the trigger of violence to peer pressure, such as bullying and social isolation, prominent psychologist Peter Langman, argues here that psychological causes are responsible. Drawing on 20 years of clinical experience, Langman offers surprising reasons for why some teens become violent. Langman divides shooters into three categories, and he discusses the role of personality, trauma, and psychosis among school shooters.

Too much about Columbine
Revisado: 09-08-20
I thought this would be about others post Columbine. At least the beginning of every chapter goes on and on about Eric Harris. We all know every detail about him I was hoping for some insight through others but was dis a pointed. But still I listened from start to finish so it does keep ones attention.

Historia
"The tragedies keep coming. As we reel from the latest horror..." So begins a new epilogue, illustrating how Columbine became the template for nearly two decades of "spectacle murders". It is a false script, seized upon by a generation of new killers. In the wake of Newtown, Aurora, and Virginia Tech, the imperative to understand the crime that sparked this plague grows more urgent every year. What really happened April 20, 1999? The horror left an indelible stamp on the American psyche, but most of what we "know" is wrong.

I was glued to this authors take. Worth the read. Such a tragic story no matter who’s point of view. And to think they have defunded the police at the schools now here in Colorado in 2020. This event should be a reminder of why officers are needed but also need better training....
