Historia
It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at the video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever.

Would make a great series
Revisado: 08-07-18
This is one of the best Nora Roberts books I've read. From the beginning of the book I felt invested in the characters' lives. The story was suspenseful & kept me listening. It was a great example of how the trajectory of your life can change in a moment. But how ultimately it is up to you how much you allow an event to control your future.
I found that by the end I had fallen in love with the little island community and would really love for that arc of the story to become a cozy mystery series.

Think Oliver Twist with Monsters
Revisado: 06-12-13
This vividly dark tale is filled with enough gore to make your stomach turn. Brimming with excitement and action, it is a narrative worthy of any Indiana Jones film. Gruesome and fraught with mental illness, this story is not for the weak at heart (or stomach for that matter). Ordinarily I would have thought this kind of story not one I would want to read, however, I found myself riveted to the very end. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this very entertaining series.

Historia
Dexter Morgan appears to be the perfect gentleman. He is handsome and polite, and has been in a relationship for nearly a year and a half. Yet appearances can be deceiving, for Dexter is a serial killer who has slain many people. But in this tale, he's the good guy, for there is one little twist: Dexter only snuffs out other murderers. When another serial killer, with an eerily similar style, starts grabbing headlines, Dexter has a fairly morbid thought. Am I being challenged?

I think I enjoyed this book a little too much. There is something very disconcerting about rooting for a serial killer.

Definitely Dark
Revisado: 02-15-13
This was an incredibly intense murder mystery. I had to keep reminding myself that it was fiction and not true crime. There is not a slow moment in this book. The story keeps you guessing all the way through. I found myself unable to stop reading. The characters where so real and flawed that I found myself completely invested in their lives. No one had a good motive yet everyone seemed guilty.

4.5 Stars. What a great escape from reality. This is a book I simple couldn't put down . It starts out as a fantastic story where you are sure you knew just who you will root for, by the end you love all of the characters and their incredible stories. The author is truly gifted in pulling you into her magical landscape. Her rich descriptions of the characters and their surroundings make you see and believe the unbelievable. Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

Awesome!!! I didn't want this story to end. The author created a truly unique and very visual world. This is a fast paced fantasy that is filled with action, adventure, heroic girls, dreamy boys and a star-crossed romance. I will highly recommend it.
