In the tradition of Educated and The Glass Castle, this shattering and poetic memoir from a brave new voice tells the story of the author’s experience in an apocalyptic cult, and how understanding the natural world was her key to escape—and survival.

Having read it once, I will have to read it again.
Revisado: 03-08-23
I just finished my first reading. I already know I'm going to need to read it again. The reality of her childhood is reflective of the natural inclinations of humanity. These did not serve her well yet through this she emerged triumphant. Her connection to the wilds of nature are astounding. I value the bravery of the story that she tells. We would be wise to consider how are individual views, and community values negatively impact those we judge to be different.

Historia
Brené Brown has spent the past two decades studying the emotions and experiences that give meaning to our lives, and the past seven years working with transformative leaders and teams spanning the globe. She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? This audiobook answers this question.

First Timer to Brene Brown by Dare to Lead
Revisado: 03-18-19
The book had a great conclusion, but the book itself didn't support the conclusion. She often referenced other books, without enough background to make an effective point if you hadn't read those books. It was the first book I have read in a while, where I wanted to write the author, and say "I didn't get it". If you have read all of here other work, this book may make perfect sense. As a first time read of the author, it was weak. Looking at the amazon reviews, the 1 star people were the peak of the not 5 stars reviews, which has never been a good sign. Brene, I would be glad to reread the book and put together my thoughts on why as a first timer, it didn't make sense.
