Caught up with the alluring Asa Jackson, a notorious drug trafficker, Sloan has finally found a lifeline to cling to, even if it’s meant compromising her morals. But as Sloan became emotionally and economically reliant on him, he in turn developed a disturbing obsession with her—one that becomes increasingly dangerous every day.

Asa...my distance for him then my evolved pity for him. Loved the conclusion and closure. Very satisfying. Just enough suspense.

Historia
It's argued that the recent search for Bigfoot officially began on September 21, 1958, when journalist, Andrew Genzoli of the Humboldt Times, featured a letter from a reader about loggers in Northern California concerning large footprints they'd found at a work site. What began as a fun article turned into an almost instant national sensation and since stories of the elusive creature have poured in, not just from California and the Pacific Northwest, but from around the world.

A Nice Composite of Bigfoot Stories

Very interesting book through & through. Very believable stories. Some quite frightening. Listened in bed with headphones. Better than watching tv. Definitely recommended.

Historia
Sisters Jess and Ivy have always shared everything - childhood memories, a flat, a love of romcoms. As different as they are, together they’re the perfect balance, with Jess’s calm elegance complementing Ivy’s spirit and thirst for adventure. But there is one thing - one person - they can’t share: Ivy’s friend, Finn. And when Jess falls for him, the betrayal cuts deep, forming a chasm between the two sisters that widens with every passing day. Years after that fateful falling out, Jess receives a call that changes everything.

Not What I Expected
Revisado: 01-24-23
I initially thought this book would dwell into Black family issues, regrets, and/or resolutions but, seem the reader was either unfamiliar or intentionally strayed away from this family dynamic. I'm taken to India of all places....why? Also, I felt the book was best suited for younger audiences middle aged to younger adults. I'm much older and therefore was a little bored by the wordiness and lingering ideas to make obvious points. Lastly, I didn't like the way the ending left the reader wondering whether Jesse & Finn successfully reunited. After all that reading, the reader didn't get to experience that joy; making the final closure too vague and pointless. Still, I managed to keep my interest & curiosity well enough to get through its entirety. Mainly because it was randomly picked for my book club discussion. Just personally not for me.
