Historia
Just when I thought life might be getting back to normal—normal being a relative word—I couldn’t have been more wrong. Marriage proposal from the Grim Reaper? Yes. Beautiful healthy baby? Yes. Friends and family safe? Yes. Ghost of my worst enemy sitting on my front porch? OMG. Yep. With the ghostly world imploding around me, I’m going to need more than superglue to repair it.

Very inclusive, until it's not
Revisado: 01-16-25
I really like how the author finds a way to be very inclusive and show the value of a human regardless of their preferences. That is, until Mickey Muggle. Pair that with Stan from book one, and it's clear she's inclusive unless dealing with an unattractive man. Then they're creepy. Now Stan was a tool based on what he said to her, but she got hung up on back hair as though that's something one has control over. She craps all over Mickey, and he hadn't said or done anything wrong. He's just ugly. Ergo, creepy. Typical

Great story, irritating narration
Revisado: 10-24-24
Overall an amazing and engaging story. And while I have massive respect for voice actors who have to consistently do multiple voices, and This voice actor did a good job with that, the DRAMATIC tone he uses throughout the entire story was distracting and off putting. Not every. Single. Sentence. Needs to be read as an intense moment with lives hanging in the balance.

Captivating!!!
Revisado: 08-06-24
I loved this book from start to finish. Narration was incredible. I loved the occasional pepper of "this would make a great movie" sprinkled throughout the story. I can see the many sources of inspiration for this story arc. Only thing I didn't like was the the trope of our "heroes" getting weighed down by the evetyone-around-me-always-dies. But everything else makes this little nuisance more than bearable

Word vomit
Revisado: 06-28-24
I really liked the first book. The second one became a little tangled. By the third book, it was near impossible to envision what was happening. Way too much technical explanation for technology that doesn't exist. Halfway through I was just gritting through it so I know how the story ended. Overall, a very unpleasant listen. Though the narrator did a phenomenal job, the writing was drunk.

Amazing story
Revisado: 09-09-22
I'm glad audible provided all four books with one credit. It's what made me take a chance, and I'm glad I did. So many military sci-fi books either focus entirely too much on a battle or two, or wayyyy too much on sideline stories. This was a perfect mix. The narrator left something to be desired, though I couldn't possibly say I could do any better.

Best narration ever
Revisado: 02-21-22
This story was good. Wasn't my favorite, left a lot to be answered, but it was definitely still worth the credit and time. All that said, I've gotten quite accustomed to R.C. Bray's voice for most of these fellas' books. When I don't hear his voice, I get a little disappointed. However, this narrator did a phenomenal job! Made the story come alive with personality. Great job!

2 things
Revisado: 11-30-21
2 things I want to say about this.
1) I know RC Bray has done a phenomenal job with his narration. I know some get upset it's not him in these. Taking nothing away from Mr. Bray, I do not concur he should have narrated these. This narrator did a Wildman, Macafee, and a Rex in just the right way. Kudos.
2) Damn Nick and Jason! What did Billy Idol ever do to you?! Lol

Historia
In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

What the hell was that?
Revisado: 10-08-21
This sequel was nothing more than a string of vignettes lacking a central plot. The quantity of vignettes only served to lower their storyline value. The only saving grace about this Audible were the voice actors who, equally as delightful in the first one, carried the weight of this boneless dead beast on their bronze shoulders. I had never not liked or loved anything written by Neil Gaimon before, but I was bitterly disappointed in this one which came hot on the heels of the first Sandman, a fantastical epic. Please Mr. Gaimon, don't rush the 3rd.

Unfortunately awful
Revisado: 08-27-21
I have LOVED everything I've "read" by these authors. That's why it sucks I have to rate this story as 1 star. The story itself is adequate, but largely filled with unnecessary and repetitive descriptions of people and events. The narrator was simply awful. Way too much dramatic effect given for events that simply did not warrant such effect. He did well with differentiating character voices, but I felt chose poorly with a few characters such as SFC Biggs. His character was one written as a crusty, experienced, and tough Legionarre, but the narrator gave him a weak and small voice. Overall this stand alone story lacked the typical strength all the other books have had. My recommendation would be to save your credits for a different story. This one was unfortunately awful
