The quality of character building, and the interactions between them are as good as ever

The humor and action are still top notch, which keeps this series in the top 3 of my all time favorites. I was pretty excited to see what happens next throughout most of the book, and the banter between characters is as entertaining as ever, but the story seems to meander in the book in a way that none of the others had before. there seemed to be too many moments in this book where there was a lot being said about nothing much at all, and not in an interesting or entertaining way, so I found myself zoning it out as background noise more often than I'd like to when listening to a book I've invested myself in. overall it ended up feeling like I only got half of the sandwich I paid for.

I like all the characters a lot more in this book than in the last, especially the MC. The story seemed short enough for nearly nothing to happen until the end, where it feels rushed. I can't get enough of the Murder Hobo's shenanigans, but I find all the other characters to be meandering about with no real purpose. I cannot wait to read more of what these four get up to in the next several books!

I loved this final part to the series, there was some weird relationship choices that certain main characters made, and Morgan gets a new ability he never uses, but besides those things, I love how it turned out.
