Solid storytelling and interesting twists.
Revisado: 08-29-23
This was an interesting and engaging mystery. I kept asking "how is it going to end?" and was not disappointed. Excellent writing and the narrator gives just enough nuance to the characters to give them depth and distinction without going overboard. I enjoyed it.

Historia
The second crime novel by internationally best-selling writer Eoin Colfer is a gritty and utterly compelling follow-up to the critically acclaimed Plugged. In Screwed, Colfer adds an entirely new chapter to the adventures and misadventures of Daniel McEvoy, the down-on-his-luck Irish bouncer at a seedy New Jersey bar who, with the help of a motley crew of unlikely characters, solved a bizarre string of murders - including the one of the girl he loved. But people around him continue to die mysteriously, and Daniel is called into action once again.

I enjoyed it and was surprised

It’s a fun journey and I listened to it on my walks. This won’t be the most cerebral mystery out there, but it’s good

Great amateur sleuth story with some interesting twist. I'm interested to see what happens next in this series.

Interesting premise with a side of stereotypes
Revisado: 11-01-21
I'm not going to give anything away when I say none of these characters were that interesting but the premise was good.
Listened to it on an airplane ride and it was SLIGHTLY better than the sound of the engines.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Interesting story, a bit much
Revisado: 08-08-21
I listened to this and found the story to be both interesting and overly long. The good news is I could fall asleep on an airplane, or in an airport, and wakeup without really missing the beat.
I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing.
The performance is a little irritating but I get the character he's trying to create and I'll go along with it.

Really interesting look into the logistics of war
Revisado: 08-08-21
I always enjoy the deep dives Mary Roach takes on subjects and this is no exception. What are the problems and solutions the military found in actually doing military stuff. The narration is a bit overdone at times but, doesn't interfere with the information. I recommend this.
