Interesting take

This is an interesting take on death and what comes after. The story was touching and gripping. TJ Klune has this uncanny way of making you care about his characters and I found myself profoundly moved to tears more than twice during the listening of this book. Kirt Graves(the narrator) was great, as well.

I started this book hesitant as it was set in modern day. However, as soon as I started I find myself unable to stop. Absolutely fantastic and gripping from the very beginning. The narrator did a great job as well. No complaints.

I love TJ Klune. There wasn't anything wrong with this book, but I actually felt like Nick got into so much more trouble doing and saying crazy things in the first book. This one was more about normal teen drama and Nick's personal development. This book was great, I just didn't laugh as much because of Nick's antics.

I had zero interest in Mark and Gordo's story, but made myself listen so I could get to Robbie and Kelly's book. That said, it was no time at all before I was rooting for these two to sort out their issues and get together. T.J. Klune is one of my favorite authors and Kirt Graves did a great job with narration. For anyone debating this one, I will say it's a slow burn.

There was sexiness with plot. It was sweet, but unlike most m/m romance out there, there was grounded realism throughout. It was good. Not an epic love story. I think the only thing that could have made this better is if it wasn't paced so fast.

It was hot and magnetic chemistry with a surprising amount of fluff and very little opposition. I'm usually one for angst, but based on other books, Austin Bates isn't heavy on the angst if he adds any at all. I liked the competition between Hunter and Levi. Kept things hot and interesting. All in all, not a bad listen.
