This story kept your focus all the way through till the end. Will probably continue on to read the other books tied into this main story. Abercrombie knows how to keep you sucked in and wanting more.

Historia
Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he's on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian - leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies. Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

This seems to be the intro to an adventure. Like it's setting the real story up to follow. Can't wait to get to the second book.

So it turns out overthrowing a 14,000-year-old cultivation empire is going to take longer than I expected, but I've made a great start. I've broken through to the Core Realm of my hidden Berserker art, established a new Terran Sect, and even discovered a tribe of lost Terrans out in the wild. There's a whole lot more at stake and even more people to save, but that's all the more reason to free the Earth from the empire's control. Not everyone is thrilled about my progression, however.

Historia
When the cultivators came to Earth, they destroyed our entire civilization in a matter of hours. Armies fell, cities burned, and that was before the moon turned red and filled our world with monsters. Now, over a decade later, what's left of humanity slaves under the heels of our Qi-infused masters. The luckiest of us might even become one of them, they say—if we serve the Dynasty well enough and harness the power of Qi. But I want none of that. I'm sick of serving, and I want nothing to do with their world. Instead, I want them to pay for what they did to mine.

the story progression and the author were great
Revisado: 09-04-24
This was a fun listen. The narrator really did a great job of acting out and capturing the excitement or energy that the scene called for. He did a good job of changing his voice between characters and making it believable. I'll probably seek out other books he's narrated. This book was different than I'd expected for this genre. I'm going to go on and listen to the next book to see where our hero takes us.

Today, I am going to show you how to take your first big step towards really becoming conversationally fluent in Spanish. All it takes is a few minutes of your time every day to actually speak and understand authentic conversational Spanish and build fluency one lesson at a time. Please remember this: None of the language programs out there that you've been using are really focusing on fluency. Even the best language programs are pattern rich, but vocabulary and memory poor.

this is a valuable tool for people trying to learn spanish but my only criticism would be that some of the basics are overkilled. would have rather heard more repetition in the sentences that are harder to comprehend
