Historia
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Series gets better
Revisado: 01-31-23
I have already read several if the books in thus series, and I realize this was the first one. The good news is that the series gets better as you get further into the series. I don’t know whether the choppy pauses in the track was because of the editing or the narrator, but it was very off putting.

In London's fashionable Chelsea, a Halloween bash goes terribly wrong. Emmeline Wardle, daughter of a frozen-foods baron, throws a party that results in the demise of two university schoolmates. Handsome golden boy Trevor Parsons is dead. So is pasty computer nerd Clive French. Both died on the Wardle estate within minutes of one another, and both died the same way - an axe to the skull. Given the social connections of all involved, New Scotland Yard sends a real baron to investigate.

Drew me totally in.
Revisado: 08-09-22
My sister recommended the first book on this series to me. Normally we have different tastes in reading but I decided to try it. I now own the entire series. The characters are well developed. The plot from one book to the next are not cookie cutter like do many other series are today. The English have their own brand of humor, and these books do not disappoint. This series is like a vacation in the middle of all my other reading. If you like English dry humor, plays, a good who-done-it and a series where the series builds from one book to the next, but each book can stand alone, then this one is for you.

Story good; writing, not so much.
Revisado: 08-01-22
I have read every book that Heather Graham has written, including the Vampire Alliance books. I really like the stories, but grit my teeth at the repetitive dialogue between the characters, such as the apologies were unending in the first few chapters. I may give up on the Krewe books after the next one, which I believe will finish up the trilogy of the triplets. (Heather, please bring back the Vampire Alliance!)

Always surprising
Revisado: 02-19-21
Often when you read a series, one book may read like the others. But not so with J. R. Ward. The book may go in a certain direction, but never think you know what is going to happen. You will be surprised.

Historia
Nick Belanger can't stop thinking about the single mother who lives next door. She's smart. She's funny. She's so beautiful he can't stare at her too long for fear his eyes will start to glow. But Kayla thinks he's just an ordinary guy who works in security. Finding out he instead is a powerful immortal warrior who hunts and slays psychotic vampires for a living may not go over well, particularly since she has a daughter she doesn't want to endanger.

Graphic descriptions of sexual acts
Revisado: 01-27-20
The story line and performance were great, but I just could not rate the book higher than 3 stars because of the highly graphic nature of the sexual acts and the types of the acts.

Four stories to choose from
Revisado: 01-22-20
Of these four stories, Dianne Duvall won hands down. The others were OK to good, but you cannot beat perfection. Ms. Duvall continues to consistently offer worth the reader’s time to read or listen.

Though there were some things on this book that rang true of Nora Roberts writing style and subject matter, thus book seemed to be a new journey for her. The combination of her story and Julia Whelan’s narration created a winner.
