Historia
Special Agent Constant Marlowe is tasked with taking over the investigation of an obsessed serial killer trolling the small town of Clark Valley in the quiet—and eerie—plains of the Midwest. Two female victims in quick succession, the same brutal MO, and every indication that victim number three is only days away. Also in the killer’s scope is Constant herself. When she interviews a local family who may be potential witnesses, she leads the devil to their doorstep, throwing their lives into chaos.

It was just okay
Revisado: 03-10-25
At times it was unclear who was speaking/thinking. The story line was okay. Somewhat predictable but there were a couple of twists that made it interesting. And at times there was information included that really didn’t match the story line. Almost like it was going to be developed at a later point in the book, but then it just dropped off with nothing more.

Good information in a fictional story
Revisado: 11-22-23
If you’re reading for information regarding end times, this book seems to take a well rounded approach to what life can be like for the Christian church as the world moves towards one-world currency, government, and faith. With darkness getting darker, the church has a great burden to reach the lost. This book series addresses some good points on preparedness. It gives some insights into various organizations that are possibly influencing the direction of our government. I found that all interesting. The story line keeps you interested, but it’s not a great work of literature. Sometimes there are descriptions of activities that seem like they were thrown in for the sake of adding words, but do not contribute a lot to the overall narrative. All in all a good read/listen. I did enjoy it.

"In this house we believe that: Black Lives Matter, Love Is Love, Gay Rights Are Civil Rights, Women’s Rights Are Human Rights, Transgender Women Are Women". You may have seen signs with some of these messages in your neighborhood. They offer us an all-or-nothing package deal - in short, a secular creed. In this provocative audiobook, Rebecca McLaughlin helps us disentangle the beliefs Christians gladly affirm from those they cannot embrace, and invites us to talk with our neighbors about the things that matter most.

I appreciate this book
Revisado: 03-30-23
This book is definitely needed in the hands of Christians today. These are difficult topics to consider, but we are faced with these issues daily. I love the encouragement to approach all of it with the self-sacrificing love that Jesus demonstrated on the cross. Not condoning. Loving. Letting people of all different theological views know that their lives are valuable and there is redemption. Being a Christian mother whose children have made choices that align more with the current culture causes, this was a refreshing look at how to understand while continuing to love and still be a light to them.

Historia
The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

I enjoyed this. I loved the unexpected twists when it seemed predictable. I enjoyed getting to know the characters even though the husband was arrogant and the wife seemed like a pushover. It all comes together in a good suspenseful mystery.

What a perfect expression of our lives in this broken world and a Savior so willingly and lovingly ready to guide us to higher ground and deeper relationship with Him. I especially enjoyed the story of Hannah at the end. Very inspiring.

To have found God and still to pursue Him is a paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily-satisfied religious person, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux stated this holy paradox in a musical four-line poem.

This is a treat
Revisado: 01-26-23
Really loved this!! You really feel for Eleanor and as her life story unfolds you just want to jump in and hug her. But what strength! You get to come along side of her as she grows, you get down in the pit of disappointment with her, and you find yourself cheering her on. Well written, well performed, and leaves you knowing that you're going to be completely fine just like Eleanor. And just for those who would like a heads up about some of the content (because I would appreciate it sometimes) there is some language, the f b*mb is dropped a lot, but really is just a part of the character of her friend. It doesn't detract from the story at all. It doesn't make you dislike her friend. But it's there.

Not marketed as it should be
Revisado: 01-26-23
Upon starting this book, I appreciated the storyline. It was interesting. I was intrigued. Sounded like it was going to be a really good mystery and building on this opportunity to co-write with a fantastic author. But then the graphic descriptions of the erotic sex scenes started and it lost me. I'm just not interested in hearing that much detail (basically p*rn) and I'm not sure if it really added to the story because by the third time, I guess I expected that to stop and get on with the story, but I quit listening. Maybe it should be noted that it is erotic. Not just dark mystery, blah blah blah. Can I get a refund for my credit??!! Totally not worth it.
