Great match of story and reader
Revisado: 04-07-24
Wonderful characterizations of both a robot-human construct and a robot transport spaceship. Gripping storytelling and fabulous narration; they feel seamless, as if they were made for each other. The second listen was just as rewarding as the first.

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

The writing is excellent and feels authentic. The narrator is wonderful, although her French pronunciation slips occasionally. She’s a great storyteller. I’ve happily listened to the book more than once.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Lorelei King is consistently superior throughout the Mercy Thompson series. George Newbern doesn’t meet her standard. He was just reading, rather than being involved in telling the story.

An amazing book and narration.
Revisado: 09-02-20
An astonishing story, both heartbreaking and uplifting. The stories are captivating, especially when garnished by his ability to capture the personalities, accents and languages of the characters he describes. His analysis of life in the Hood parallels so closely comparable life in the United States that it makes the latter more understandable for those who haven’t lived it. Very, very well done.
