Really enjoyed this book. A look at Winston Churchill from a different perspective. I could not help comparing Winston Churchill with Donald Trump. Not popular with the public but oh what would have Britain done without him and what a lot of good Donald Trump has done for the USA.

Good verses Evil

Nobody write characters that you love and absolutely hate like Ken Follett. You just have to listen to the next chapter to find out when justice will be coming at last. Please Ken Follett, more books like this one please. After listening I have gone back to listen to the Pillars of the Earth again.

Good stand alone Sci Fi Novel

It was a lot of fun. I will pretty much listen to anything that Ray Porter narrates so I was excited to see he had narrated another sci-fi – and I was not disappointed.

Great retelling of a little known part of history.

This good book by Conn Iggulden is about the exploits of the Athenian nobleman Xenophon, with also a very main part for Prince Cyrus, and important parts for Hephaestus, King Artaxerxes and not to forget the Spartans Clearchus and Chrisophus. I did not know much about this incident and that is why I love Historical fiction so much.

I disagree with some of the other reviewers. I enjoyed the performance of Pete Bradbury.

There is a completely (for me) surprising twist in the middle of the book, and then the whole direction of the book changes. Very well presented, and matching true history.

Truly a fabulous tale, superbly told by Iggulden.

Hurrah. Another Sharon Kaye Penman novel in Audio

At last we have another Sharon Kay Penman novel in Audio. Please can we have some more.

What makes Sharon Penman's historical novels set in medieval Britain so amazing is how they combine sticking quite close to historical facts, with making a thrilling read enjoyable to modern readers.

The saddest part of this book, and of the real life events it chronicles, is the suffering of the poor who find themselves at the mercy of battle-hardened soldiers, especially when on the losing end of a battle. Twenty years England was torn apart as two strong-willed people battled for what each believed rightly to be theirs.

I am amazed how much I loved Stephen and hated Maude in the beginning, and found myself completely reversed by the end.

I Highly recommend this book . This is Sharon Kaye Penman at her best.
