Historia
The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings. There's only one problem - she can't figure out how to access them. Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help. But she could've never predicted who answers her call - he's an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He's also incredibly handsome. And interested.

Absolutely Ridiculous
Revisado: 03-13-24
I’ve read lots of magical fiction, but this one is by far the worst. The characters are shallow and ill defined.

A very well written novel about love, loss, and relationships where most of the characters find forgiveness and redemption

Historia
Sandy Pressman is a nice suburban wife whose boredom is getting the best of her. She could be making friends at the club, like her husband keeps encouraging her to do. Or working on her golf game. Or getting her hair done. But for some reason, these things don't interest her as much as the naked man on the motorcycle.

Unimpressively Predictable
Revisado: 06-09-23
Although a decent character study overall, the plot is predictable and Sandy should have been strong enough to leave and grow more.

Katy Hays’ first novel takes endless twists and turns, leaving her reader to process all the facts. The information she provides about Renaissance art and tarot cards is extremely interesting.

A Sixth Grader Could Write a Better Storyline
Revisado: 09-12-20
Having read a prior novel by Susan Mallory, I decided to read another. I was so disappointed by the pat storyline. It was so predictable and I had to suspend my disbelief in order to finish the book. Relationships just don’t work this way. Most disturbing of all was the juvenile and crass descriptions of sexual relationships. What a waste of time to read! A sixth grader could write a better storyline.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Emotionally Gripping
Revisado: 05-09-19
Dr. Tara Westover’s novel is intriguing, well written, and emotionally gripping. I could not stop listening. It’s a mentally thought provoking memoir, discussing the complete control a family can have on its members.
