After having invested 21+ hours of my life, reaching a “to be continued“ ending and discovering it was only a setup for a sequel was enraging. While listening, I often was irritated by detailed narration that I didn’t find either illuminating or entertaining. In short, I simply felt cheated and annoyed. I vehemently do not recommend this book and hope that I have been able to help you avoid wasting your time.

Not recommended. Essentially a Star Trek versus an evil race as well as a group of terrorist religious zealots. The super powerful ship is guided by an artificial intelligence, and its mission is to conduct a black ops mission to destroy enemies of the Federation. The AI divides itself into the traditional Star Fleet bridge crew, recruits a crew from numerous alien races, makes 1970s pop culture references and conducts an “end justifies the means“ bloodbath.
